"Look at those Chompers!!" A January 2010 AKL DxDP TR...FINAL Update: 6/12 Day 8!

EWWWW!! I wouldn't have eaten the pink potatoes either. I like my steak medium but I don't like the juices to touch anything else on my plate either. That's why I eat my side dishes first and save the tasty steak for last...no cross contamination.:rotfl2:

I am amazed by how much I missed in the world showcase when we were there last year!! I see other DISers posting their pics and half the time I'm like "where the heck was that in (whatever country) and how did I miss it?" Where is the Anne of Avonlea house? I never noticed that before.

I'd like to compliment you on your photos. I think you do a great job capturing the disney magic and details...it really enhances the story. :worship: Keep up the good work!! :thumbsup2

I can't take pictures. I mean, I CAN but they don't turn out very well compositionally...and I took a class!! :confused3 My hubby took like 500 pics on our last trip and most of them were amazing. You can tell which ones I took...they suck. :lmao: Just a warning for my TR...I don't think my hubby will take food porn pics so it'll be up to me.

I told my daughter about Dash's tooth. She was very interested to find out if Tinkerbell really did stand in for the tooth fairy and wanted to know if he found something special under his pillow or whether it was just a regular old dollar. She has a loose tooth just starting and she doesn't want me to wiggle it much. I think she's hoping it'll fall out during our trip in April...although she's denied it.

I love the pic of Dash colouring so intently...so focused. My daughter keeps going on an on about the masks. She doesn't want to miss them this time. We did the kidcot stations in future world but the kiddies take a looooong time with their crafts and stuff so my hubby and I were going spare waiting. Once we got to the world showcase we carefully steered them away from any and all stations so we didn't have to argue about them. (Hey, maybe that's why we missed so much in each country...to busy dodging kidcot stations...) :rotfl2: I'm thinking of placating DD with a passport to get signed instead of the mask...not sure if she'll go for it though...

Way to go!! You made me all nervous to try the Norway snacks!! DH and DD don't do coconut or almonds so it'd be a waste of a snack credit if neither DS nor myself like them either. I'm not too tempted by the pretzel so maybe we'll just try the school bread...the others can eat around the coconut if need be and the kiddies are quite fond of doughnut in general so this one might be a hit!!

I think it's great you sacrificed multiple Soarin' rides so you didn't have to be apart for so long. I LOVE that ride so I'd find it quite hard not to be so selfish. Both my kids are big enough to go on most of the rides and they tend to share the same sentiments regarding how scared or interested they are in each ride so we barely split up last time at all. I'm guessing this time will be much the same. :cheer2:

Can't wait for the next installment!!

Great update!! I missed the story of the boys' birthdays but would never ask. LOL! ;) I do have two kiddos with their birthdays only one day apart (7/27 and 7/28) and I'm questioned about that all the time too.

I'm glad you were having such a great, low-crowd day in Epcot! I really want to try LeCellier next trip. I'd order the exact same as you. :)

You had my favorite meal at Le Cellier! The pretzel bread is my favorite too, but I LOVE the soup (of course, I like beer...... ). Sounds like you had a very nice afternoon walking around World Showcase, and from your pictures it looks like it was a beautiful day

Oh my gosh, I just noticed that you changed your location to
Flufferville!

:rotfl: @ Flufferville. I think my location is forever changed on here.

I wish I loved the soup. I'm a big soup fan. Just not a beer fan. Maybe if it had been tequila cheddar cheese soup..... :rolleyes1 Just sayin'.

It was a beautiful day, for sure. Wish I had taken more pictures but on the other hand am glad that I just enjoyed being there, ya know?

Oh what I wouldn't give for some fat free low cal pretzel bread right now!

Hi gelly! I'm all subbed and caught up!

And, I was right when I guessed Pflugerville. I didn't need the backstory afterall!

Looks like y'all are having a great time so far and your boys are really sweet. I hope that they will always enjoy sharing a birthday.

Looking forward to more of your story!

Welcome Connie!!! You were right LOL But the story is kinda funny anyway. We were having a great time, so far..... I hope they always enjoy sharing their birthday too, but I think eventually they are gonna wanna do their own thing too and we'll grab opposite weekends for parties when that time comes.

Thanks for joining! :goodvibes

Enjoying your trip report!!

I saw your location on your signature and thought you were stuck
between a Rock (Round Rock) and a Weird Place (Austin).
I happen to live in the weird place.
I wish I could use those toll roads for work, but I-35 is the way I have to go.

Alas, I am stuck between a rock and a weird place. I love it here. 10 mins to downtown Austin, 10 mins to the Round Rock Outlets and Ikea and 15 mins to the airport via the toll road!! The toll roads do rock!! I am so sorry you can't use them! 35 was voted the 4th worst commute in America in a recent article DH read somewhere. It's a madhouse! You be careful!

Thanks for reading and :welcome:

Flufferville!

When you texted me that you finally got to see Wishes, i was soooo happy and excited for you!

i can't get over how Jack-jack is looking less like a baby in every picture i see of him... He is just growing up so fast!

i think you *should* have told the story of how you got their birthdays on the same day ;)

You are doing super awesome at keeping your TR going! Keep it up!!!

lulu!

Thanks twinnie! Glad you're still reading amidst all your busy wedding plans! :lovestruc

Jack-Jack is soooooooooo growing up. *sighs* Trying to enjoy it one day at a time!

You KNOW the story how they got here on the same day! :rotfl:

I can only imagine. Our beagle is a pure breed beagle and his nose really does lead him. He eats lots of things that are not edible. I'm not sure it's something he will grow out of. He is only a year old. We are looking for another dog though... Not sure I want one that eats the electrical though. Then we wouldn't have any sheets, blankets, socks, computer, or tv... I do have to agree that he is really good with the kids. My youngest can sit on him and he just lays there and tries to lick him.

How old is your dog? Did you crate train him? We have to leave our dog in the crate when we leave the house. He would eat everything if we didn't.

Our beagle.... oh our beagle. He's fabulous with our boys. They can too sit on him while he's chewing on his bone nonetheless and he just lays there. BUT he is a thief, loves to steal something he knows he's not supposed to have, run into the living room and show me he has it and then run and hide. He chewed the cord of my vacuum into two pieces that I had to get repaired. Got Mr. Incredible's cell phone and chewed it up. :sad2:

We can't leave him in the yard unsupervised anymore b/c of the cable chewing. He tries to chew through the fence too and has succeeded to the point we had to put up a reinforcement of welding wire to keep him from getting to the wood.

I HOPE and PRAY he grows up a bit, at least to the point that he's more content with a bone or Kong and will play without being destructive. If we could find him a new home with more dogs and a bigger yard to occupy him, we probably would. But he's such a good dog for the boys. Kind of a catch 22.

He'll be 1 in March. We do crate him at night and when we leave. No way I could trust him in the house without us around. I can barely trust him with us home. We have to crate him while we eat dinner too. But he house broke amazingly well. Funny how they pick and choose which training they'll respond to!

Joining in and really enjoying it so far!

Denise

Thank you!!!! Glad you're joining in!! pixiedust:

EWWWW!! I wouldn't have eaten the pink potatoes either. I like my steak medium but I don't like the juices to touch anything else on my plate either. That's why I eat my side dishes first and save the tasty steak for last...no cross contamination.

I'll have to remember that!! I'm the weirdo that has to have my bites add up. One of each item, and I like to have equal bites of each thing til the end. So I don't know that I could eat the sides first. Hmmmm... But the pink taters grossed me out!

I am amazed by how much I missed in the world showcase when we were there last year!! I see other DISers posting their pics and half the time I'm like "where the heck was that in (whatever country) and how did I miss it?" Where is the Anne of Avonlea house? I never noticed that before.

I still see things on TRs and I'm like WHERE In the heck was that?! AND this was my 12th trip. The cabin is across the pond in the Victoria Gardens in the Canadian pavilion, back up on a hill kinda settled into the trees.

I'd like to compliment you on your photos. I think you do a great job capturing the disney magic and details...it really enhances the story. Keep up the good work!!

I can't take pictures. I mean, I CAN but they don't turn out very well compositionally...and I took a class!! My hubby took like 500 pics on our last trip and most of them were amazing. You can tell which ones I took...they suck. :lmao: Just a warning for my TR...I don't think my hubby will take food porn pics so it'll be up to me.

Thank you!!! I'm kinda starting to dabble in photography. And I use the word dabble sparingly. I take a lot of shots and play with angles and have fun with it. I haven't had a class but did some research online before our last trip.
I STINK at taking pictures of people though! :rotfl: The food porn pics turned out better than I thought they were going to... I didn't use flash in the restaurants. I'm just not there yet... that whole LOOK at me people, I'm taking pictures of food! thing I can't get over. Not yet!

Awww! That's so sweet that she wants to hear! I haven't forgotten about it, it just hasn't come up yet again the the TR ! :rolleyes1 I'm afraid she's gonna be disappointed! :guilty:

I love the pic of Dash colouring so intently...so focused. My daughter keeps going on an on about the masks. She doesn't want to miss them this time. We did the kidcot stations in future world but the kiddies take a looooong time with their crafts and stuff so my hubby and I were going spare waiting. Once we got to the world showcase we carefully steered them away from any and all stations so we didn't have to argue about them. (Hey, maybe that's why we missed so much in each country...to busy dodging kidcot stations...) I'm thinking of placating DD with a passport to get signed instead of the mask...not sure if she'll go for it though...

We, too, have avoided the masks and well as KP not wanting to take a lot of time. Since we had 3 days in Epcot planned this trip and it was just the 4 of us on 2 of those days we took the time. The Kidcot thing is not nearly as time consuming as I thought it was. They get a mask at one stop, color it, and then collect little hanging tokens that represent each country at each Kidcot station. So you don't have to sit there and let them color at each country! :thumbsup2

The school bread was interesting. Definitely worth trying. The prezel was just a weird. I like German bakery pretzels better, but have never tried them at the German pavilion. Will have to do that next trip to compare. The school bread isn't like a donut, but like a french bread bowl kinda consistency, then filled with bavarian cream like stuff and topped with coconut. The coconut is definitely avoidable for those that don't like it!

That's awesome that your kids' ride tastes are so similar! Sacrificing Soarin was an easy decision at the time. We had 3 Epcot days ahead of us and plenty of opportunities to ride again and I just wanted to spend time as a family that day! Knowing that my in-law's were coming in that weekend and I'd have to share Mr. I with them for the days they were there.

Can't wait for the next installment!!

The low crowds were AWESOME! I'm so spoiled by going in January!! I'll splain the story at some point.... if you really wanna hear it! :rotfl: That's cool that your kids are so close in birthdays too!

Le Cellier is a definite must try! It was yummy!

I'm really enjoying your TR! I can't remember if I posted yet or not! I need to get over there and make sure I have and catch up again!

All caught up now! Loving the report! :thumbsup2

Being from Texas myself.... "Flufferville" is just hilarious to me! Too too funny! :rotfl:

Can't wait to read more!

Thanks twinnie! Glad you're still reading amidst all your busy wedding plans! :lovestruc

Jack-Jack is soooooooooo growing up. *sighs* Trying to enjoy it one day at a time!

You KNOW the story how they got here on the same day! :rotfl:

Yes, i do know - that's why i think you should share lol The best part is [CENSORED] :goodvibes

Wedding plans.... ack! :scared: too bad they're not as single-minded as Disney plans... i could really trade up for some ADR planning right now!

I LOVE that you put Flufferville as your location in your profile information! :lmao: You are so stinkin' funny!

This comment:

They knew everything about me. Where I was staying, where I was from, when I was leaving, what size underwear I was currently wearing, what size underwear I would need after 7 days on the Deluxe Dining plan. :rolleyes1

made me laugh so hard Joe looked at me funny! :rotfl:

Don't ya just love a Boma breakfast though? Drooooooooooool. So, so good. And how lovely to have it SEVERAL times during your vacation. :cloud9:

Your boys are just adorable. I don't know how it's possible for a kid to get even cuter, but Dash is even sweeter with his new chompers!!

We are fans of the Epcot fountains as well. They are so pretty!

I can see where Disney planning is easier and maybe even more enjoyable than wedding plans! Definitely a lot less stressful!

Oh how I miss Boma breakfast! *sighs*

Thanks for saying my boys are cute! I think so, but I know I'm biased. I'll have to post another picture of Dash now that he's lost his other top tooth! Look at those chompers!!! :lmao:

I am really enjoying reading you TR. Can not wait to hear what is next:banana:

Thanks! and :welcome:

Gonna try to get another update out today!!

We headed out and waited for the bus for a while. Probably 15 mins. Then the bus itself took about 30 mins! Definitely the longest bus ride we had from AKL. It was still pretty chilly, so we headed straight to WPE to get inside and warm. DTD was pretty empty, probably cus it was freezing!

It was pretty empty in there. Surprisingly empty. Last January this place was nuts both times we ate there. But there was 0 line and I think 3 other tables in there. I ordered 4 meals, 2 adult and 2 kid. Pepperoni and mushroom pizza for me, BBQ chicken salad for Mr. Incredible, cheese pizza for Jack-Jack and pepperoni for Dash. 2 chocolate chip cookies, 1 brownie and 1 creme brulee for our desserts. Total for dinner was 59.11 which considering this is considered a QS is a great deal!! Course for our deluxe it didn't matter. I find out much later in the trip that on Deluxe, not only does it not matter for QS v. TS credits, it doesn't matter for kid credits v. adult credits!!!!! I coulda kicked myself for not knowing this about the DxDP. Yes, in sit down restaurants the kids have to order off the kid's menu but at counter service places, I could have ordered 1 adult meal to feed both boys and saved a credit!! :sad2: Live and learn!

At any rate, Mr. I took the boys to sit down while I got drinks. I had all 4 of them in my hands and got quite a few looks from the 'servers.' One guy says " Wow. That's mad skill. We need you working here!" :rotfl: I told him I had some experience. Didn't mention that we'd owned a cafe a few years back and I had more experience than I had ever wanted! Oh the things you do for your husbands!

Jack-Jack was super happy to be in the corner of the booth, jumping up and down. He wasn't being loud, so we let him stand up while he ate! I took some pictures while we waited for our food to be delivered. I like the pseudo table service experience. Yes you have to tip but you feel like you're in a bit of an upgrade to say Pecos Bill's! Not knocking Pecos Bill's. Love that place. But it's nice to have your food brought to you, and your dessert brought later on and then have re-fills on your drinks taken care of by your 'server' but yet not have them hover the whole time taking your money and your order. I like the blend of the concepts.

Not quite ready for his close-up

January2010230.jpg

Love this pic! He looks so happy!

January2010231.jpg

Pictures of Jack-Jack eating are quite common in this TR. :rotfl:

We were all hungry I guess as it was 9:30pm before we ate! So our Le Cellier was gone! My pizza was fabulous, though not quite as good as it had been in the past. It was much greasier this time! But still really tasty. I so wish they had WPE's in Texas.

The creme brulee was surprisingly good for a 'counter service' place. It came in a ramekin this time and not the foil containers I thought it came in last time. Really good. We saved the boys cookies cus we had a date with Goofy's!.

It was fairly empty in Goofy's. I head straight toward the dip your own station. I knew that I couldn't get 3 pretzels for a snack credit anymore, but I knew I could get one! I go to grab an order form and mention it to the lady behind the counter (we'll call her Ethel to keep things straight) to make sure and she says sure! 1 pretzel rod is fine for a snack credit! Which really I would've been better off paying OOP for it but we had SO many snack credits on Deluxe. So I get my order form filled out and hand it to the other lady (we'll call her Lucy) working behind the counter. She tells me that I'm not allowed to get the pretzel on snack credit.

Say what?

I try to explain to her that I just want one pretzel, not three. Lucy pulls some laminated sheet out from underneath the counter and shows me where the price had been changed from 3.95 to 4.95. And I'm like yeah, for THREE rods, not one. She insists that they no longer count as snack credits. So I politely point out the pretzels that were pre-dipped with the snack credit symbol in front of them in the glass display case area. She says the sign is wrong. And I'm like.... then you need to take the sign down! I try to explain that I had asked Ethel and she had said it was fine. They two ladies confer and she says she's sorry. No pretzels for snack credits. I'm so confused and frustrated. I mean seriously, how much can 1 pretzel cost if 3 used to cost 3.95? I can understand a dollar increase for 3 of them to make them ineligible for snack credits but for 1 pretzel rod?!

I walk around, trying to find something else. I could have bought the stupid pretzel but by this time it was a matter of sheer stubbornness on my part! We find a long twirly sucker stick for Dash and I get a piece of fudge after triple checking it still counts as a snack credit and it does so Mr. I gets peanut butter fudge and I got snickers fudge, one piece each. We are walking out of the store when Lucy comes up and says Wait, I was wrong! You can get 1 pretzel rod for a snack credit!

:scared:

:headache:

:lmao:

I'm like oh really? You don't say! I tried to be nice. Really. I'm not a snarky person. But seriously!?

So we made our way back over to the dipping station and filled out our forms. I wanted butterfinger with milk chocolate and white chocolate drizzle. Mr. I wanted milk chocolate with peanut butter chips, no drizzle.

So we wait. I'm standing there, talking to a guy that is so in love with his Oreo chocolate dipped rice krispie treat Mickey head that I swear he needed to get a room. As I'm talking to him, thinking man I love my sweets but this guy is seriously into that Mickey head rice krispy treat, I see not one but THREE pretzel rods get dipped into peanut butter chips. Now like I said earlier, Goofy's was pretty empty. There were no other people waiting for dipped pretzels. I am :hyper: in my shoes. I look at Mr. I and gesture over to the dipping dude, not Lucy or Ethel, and see him dipping THREE pretzel rods into pb chips and then he walks over and talks to Lucy and then walks back over and keeps on dippin'.

I'm trying my best not to crack up. I tell Mr. Incredible that I need to step out of the store because I have ZERO ability to keep a straight face. Poker face is NOT my theme song. I leave Jack-Jack with Mr. I and Dash and I go check out the 10$ and under store. The guy having the affair with the Mickey head was there, still orally assualting his treat. I side step him, not wanting to hear another Ode to Mickey on a stick.

I'm thinking in my head how hilarious it's gonna be when we both score 3 pretzel rods for 1 snack credit after all that hulabaloo with Lucy about the stinkin' pretzels. Finally Mr. I and Jack-Jack come out of the store and Mr. I has THAT grin on his face. That you're-gonna-kill-me-but-I'm-secretly-laughing-at-you-anyway grin.

He did in fact get 3 pb chip pretzel rod.

Yours truly got ONE!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was laughing like a you know what and I was fuming!

:lmao: :lmao:

It's funny now but at the time I was like Seriously?! After all that grief and strategic sly argueing with Lucy, he got 3 rods for 1 snack credit and I got ONE!

He quietly offers to share to which I respond with "I don't want one of your *(@#$@#% pretzel rods! I want 3 of my own like you got! Where's the karma in this!?"

I was mad, but not really mad. Ya know? The I can appreciate the irony of the situation but I'm still miffed at my luck kinda mad?

We decided we'd had enough DTD for the night. I think I went into the kitchen store too at one point but we made no other purchases. Just WPE and Goofy's. We had the bag of pretzels under the stroller until we got to the bus stop and I for one didn't want my ONE (Can you tell I'm still bitter? :rotfl:) pretzel rod getting crushed. So we have Jack-Jack and a bag o' treats and the stroller and a very long bus ride.

I manage somehow to get up into the bus holding Jack-Jack and the bag o goodies. Mr. I has the stroller and Dash is holding the bag with his sucker and our fudge in it. We have to stop again at PI so it took forever to get back to the hotel. At PI, we picked up a couple that sat in front of us. Very intoxicated, but oh so friendly. They kept talking to Jack-Jack. Was kinda funny. Drunk baby talk.

Jack-Jack was sitting in my lap and at one point I put my hand on his chest, to hold him to me. JUST when I did that, the bus driver had to slam on his brakes to not hit a pedestarian crossing the main road. Thank God I had just held Jack-Jack to me. It was one of the older buses with the front facing seats with the metal hand hold bars in front. He would have smacked his forehead hard on that bar, the driver slammed his brakes on THAT hard. I'm talking stiches at the least. I quickly forgot the pretzel incident of 2010 and was just thankful that someone was watching out for us and I just happened to put my hand there at the right time. :littleangel:

About 5 mins away from AKL Dash falls asleep. I mean limp noodle passes out. And drops the sucker bag on the floor with a loud clang. The whole bus full of people jump to a start. I'm trying to wake him up enough to pick the bag up cus I'm on the inside and he's on the outside of the 2 ppl seats and Mr. I is quite a ways back in the bus so he has room for our stroller. Thankfully a guy on the other side of the bus grabbed the bag and handed it to me. Dash was OUT!

When we arrived at the stop at AKL, Dash was hard to wake. Finally I poked and pushed him enough and he walked on his own .... cus there was no way Mr. I or I could carry him, not with Jack-Jack and the stroller and the bags. I don't know how people do it with 2 small kids, must less 3! :worship:

We made our way back to the room slowly and got the boys in pjs. And broke out the treats. I so didn't take any pictures of our rods. I should have!! 3 v. 1 and all!

The boys started on the sucker. Only in Disney would I let my kids have sugar at 11:30pm at night!

They got the giggles! By the time I tried to video tape it, they stopped, but Dash was feeding Jack-Jack and they both thought it was funny when he'd slip the sucker back out of his mouth fast. I, pulled the mommy card, and warned them to be careful so they didn't do it on the way in his mouth thankfully. They did this for a while.

I really enjoyed my ONE pretzel rod, but didn't care for Mr. I's. The Snicker fudge tasted OLD and nasty. I threw it away. Mr. I enjoyed his pb fudge though!

It was sometime around midnight we realized we had forgotten to put Dash's tooth under his pillow the night before. I went digging into my bag and found the ziploc baggie I had it in and laid it on the table and told Dash to make sure he put it under his pillow that night!

We all went to bed, exhausted but content with out fabulous first day of Epcot under our belts. We had plans to sleep in as late as we could the next day so no wake up call for us!! :cloud9: We were all out in a matter of mins. I didn't even hear all 3 of them snore that night! :rotfl2:

Up next:

Epcot again!

Would we be able to sleep in? Would we stick to our Counter Service somewhere plans for breakfast/lunch or would we manage to add another ADR to our list? Would we make it to Illuminations that night?

Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see another update!

Your experience at WPE sounds very different than ours. Yes, they brought our food to the table, but that was it. No refills. Dessert was brought at the same time as the food. Huh. Didn't even occur to us to tip there. Of course, they actually brought us someone else's food first...

Crazy experience you had at Goofy's Candy Co! I didn't know about the one pretzel thing! Of course, based on your story, maybe it's good I didn't know :lmao: I was there about 5 minutes before closing and there was only one guy working there. I asked him what was a snack credit, he said marshmallows, so I got those :thumbsup2

You said you're not sure how people handle the sleeping kids on busses. I saw one strategy. Some people sitting near us had a couple of sleepy kids and spent the whole bus ride basically begging the kids not to fall asleep. They did manage to keep them awake. I thought it was kind of silly at the time, but on another bus ride, I saw a dad by himself with two daughters completely passed out on him and I really wondered how he was going to get off the bus (we got off before him, so I don't know).

Cute pictures of the kids consuming their gigantic lollipop in bed!

Interested to hear what happens with the tooth. Hope you guys get to sleep in!

great update twinnie! i'm so sad that the 3 pretzels aren't snack credits anymore :( they were so freakin' yummy. Of course, there's a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory opening here in town soon... i'm in big trouble. They do Goofy's-worthy pretzels! And candy apples.... and fudge.... why couldn't they wait til after my wedding?!

Anyway, back to you. Love the picture of Jack-jack looking excited at WPE, and LOVE the pics of the boys sharing the lollipop stick. Really adorable!

Noooooooooooooo-say it isnt so! :eek::eek::eek:

When did they change the pretzel rods to not be a snack credit? When we were there in August I seriously went to Goofy's 4 times in the 8 days we were there for pretzel rods.

I am so sad.:confused::confused::confused:

What will I use my snack credits for in the future? :confused3

WPE is seriously one of the best places to eat in all of WDW.

Oh, and thanks to your TR I changed our 3 days prior to our cruise in 12/2010 from CSR to AK!!!

Your update had me stifling laughs into my coffee mug the whole way through! :rotfl: Henry is still sleeping, if I would have let them loose he would have woken up!

WPE...yum. Love it there! We used to have one at the Mall of America, but it's long gone. I never tried it when I could have! But I truly love their creme brulee. I was happy to hear it being served in an actual dish verses the foil dealy. I'm guessing it's a budget cut sorta thing - cheaper to wash a dish versus buying those!

The whole Pretzel Rod Incident of 2010 had me ROLLING! That is so very much something that would happen to ME! Joe would get 3, I would get one....I'd laugh, because it was funny, but be slightly miffed as well!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I got tears in my eyes with the bit about Jack-Jack and the bus! Similar things have happened to me as well with Henry. I always whisper a prayer of THANK YOU LORD! It's amazing when that stuff happens!

The pics of the boys playing with the sucker are precious - one of those wonderful family moments that you have captured forever!

I would love to see Dash with his even newer chompers too! :goodvibes

When i'm riding in a car with my mother and she has to brake suddenly, she still throws her hand out in front of my chest as though she could keep me safe.

It wasn't until a couple of years ago i realised that i do it to my sister and my fiancé, too.

We loved WPE, too! Definitely a great deal for a CS credit! Loved the pics of your boys enjoying the lollipop!

Denise

Glad to see another update!

Your experience at WPE sounds very different than ours. Yes, they brought our food to the table, but that was it. No refills. Dessert was brought at the same time as the food. Huh. Didn't even occur to us to tip there. Of course, they actually brought us someone else's food first...

It was definitely the most 'service' we've experienced at WPE. I think it was because they were so slow. :confused3 We tipped but not as much as a full service. And there have been times we've been there that we didn't tip. I guess it's just one of those things, it depends on what level of service they give on each visit.

It probably is a good thing you didn't know. Course if Ethel had been the one waiting on me from the beginning, I don't think we would have had the issue. I'm not a huge marshmallow fan, and I love salty/sweet so pretzels are right up my ally! I think next time, if we are on the DDP again, that we'll just pay OOP for 3 pretzels, cus let me tell 1 was not enough! :rotfl:

You said you're not sure how people handle the sleeping kids on busses. I saw one strategy. Some people sitting near us had a couple of sleepy kids and spent the whole bus ride basically begging the kids not to fall asleep. They did manage to keep them awake. I thought it was kind of silly at the time, but on another bus ride, I saw a dad by himself with two daughters completely passed out on him and I really wondered how he was going to get off the bus (we got off before him, so I don't know).

I'm definitely glad my kids are 5 years apart!! I can't imagine doing it with two little ones. I totally get the whole you can't fall asleep on a bus thing, but it's so hard on little ones not to crash as soon as they hit the bus. One thing in our favor was taking breaks and sleeping in a few days. Mr. I and Jack-Jack had naps on this day, but Dash hadn't and we were out pretty late, so he was exhausted. I *think* that was the only time he feel asleep on the bus.

Cute pictures of the kids consuming their gigantic lollipop in bed!

Interested to hear what happens with the tooth. Hope you guys get to sleep in!

Thanks!! Will try to post an update tomorrow!

This is the cutest stinkin' picture!! Love that smile, he just looks so happy :goodvibes

Sorry about your one lousy pretzel rod - that's just not right!

I :lovestruc that picture too!! But he looks so grown up in it!! They grow up too fast!!!!

It wasn't right was it!? I think someone was trying to tell me I didn't need the calories!! :lmao:

great update twinnie! i'm so sad that the 3 pretzels aren't snack credits anymore :( they were so freakin' yummy.

Just think of all the Rocky Mountain Chocolate you can have AFTER the wedding!! :thumbsup2 I was sad they didn't count anymore either but I guess they were losing money on them. The word had spread that they were a great deal for a snack credit. That's what generally happens at Disney right? As soon as a good deal catches on, they take it away! :rotfl2:

Glad you're enjoying the pics!!! When are you gonna come see us?! huh huh? :confused3

Noooooooooooooo-say it isnt so! :eek::eek::eek:

When did they change the pretzel rods to not be a snack credit? When we were there in August I seriously went to Goofy's 4 times in the 8 days we were there for pretzel rods.

I think it was new with the new year maybe? I dunno. I had read it here on the Dis before we went so it's been a while. You can still get one pretzel rod, just not 3. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!!! :guilty:

I am so sad.

What will I use my snack credits for in the future?

I'm sure you'll find something else to use the credits on, and then Disney will probably catch on that we like something else and change it! I'm not really that bitter... and I can understand it from a business stand point. Just stinks for us pretzel lovers!

WPE is seriously one of the best places to eat in all of WDW.

It is!! I love it. So wish there were some in Texas!! A girl can dream, right? I dunno. Maybe it wouldn't be as special if I ate it all the time....

NAH! It would still rock!! :woohoo:

Oh, and thanks to your TR I changed our 3 days prior to our cruise in 12/2010 from CSR to AK!!!

OMGosh!!! That's AWESOME! I'm so excited for you!! And if you love it, I'll totally take the credit and if you hate it... well... who twisted your arm?

:lmao:

Seriously though. I think you will really enjoy it. It's an awesome hotel and experience. I wish we had done more there than we did!!

I'm so stinkin jealous of your cruise!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!! :dance3:

Your update had me stifling laughs into my coffee mug the whole way through! Henry is still sleeping, if I would have let them loose he would have woken up!

Awwww!! Don't wake the baby!! And don't snort hot coffee!! So something I would do!
:surfweb:

I was happy to see it in a real ramekin too! Mr. I makes it... and we wonder why I'm not a size 2. But he only makes it on special occasions, obviously. He attempted it in foil containers for Christmas dinner this year because we didn't have 16 ramekins to make it the right way and it changes the cooking process and texture, imho. So I was DEFINITELY glad it was 'real' creme brulee.

I can't believe there was a WPE near you and you never knew it!! :sad2:

The whole Pretzel Rod Incident of 2010 had me ROLLING! That is so very much something that would happen to ME! Joe would get 3, I would get one....I'd laugh, because it was funny, but be slightly miffed as well!

Glad you got a chuckle. I was so mad/amused/ticked off/laughing at my luck about those stinking pretzels. I just knew we were gonna get one over on Lucy and get 3 pretzels anyway after all that debate over ONE stinkin rod. BUT oh nooooooooo! Mr. Incredible gets 3... and the sad thing is, if I'd gotten 3 I woulda shared and he woulda liked mine. Whereas I really didn't care for his. He even told me I out orderd him on pretzels this year! :rotfl:

I got tears in my eyes with the bit about Jack-Jack and the bus! Similar things have happened to me as well with Henry. I always whisper a prayer of THANK YOU LORD! It's amazing when that stuff happens!

EXACTLY! That's exactly how I felt. And then you start to think.. what would've happened if I hadn't done that... So scary and so humbling at the same time.

The pics of the boys playing with the sucker are precious - one of those wonderful family moments that you have captured forever!

It was a fun night. We cracked up at them cracking up. Definitely a memory I'll cherish, among many from this past trip.

I would love to see Dash with his even newer chompers too! :goodvibes

I have the pic taken, just haven't uploaded it. Will try to do that soon.

When i'm riding in a car with my mother and she has to brake suddenly, she still throws her hand out in front of my chest as though she could keep me safe.

It wasn't until a couple of years ago i realised that i do it to my sister and my fiancé, too.

My mom did the same thing to me when I was little. Course I remember riding in the front seat before seatbelts were the law. So I can't say I've done it with my kids yet, cus they haven't riden in the front seat yet. I'm sure I'll do the same thing! I think Mr. Incredible has done it to me. Just car instinct I guess!

We loved WPE, too! Definitely a great deal for a CS credit! Loved the pics of your boys enjoying the lollipop!

Denise

Love, love, love WPE ! But I always order the same thing! Glad you liked the pics!!

What do you mean, when am i coming to see you? You're coming to my wedding, aren't you?

I'm 30 and my Mom STILL does that to me. :lmao:

And I do it to my hubby. I'm certain when Henry is old enough to be in the front seat, I'll be doing it to him too!
