These floors are ugly.

I love this house. Everything is perfect, except for the marble floors. I have never seen floors like this before. I am sure they are very expensive but DH and I don't know if we can live with them. They seem very busy. The house is in our price range, in an area we love, and has a pool. I just wanted to know what other people thought of it. The hardwoods are great. I wish they had done that everywhere.

I don't care for them either. Could you have a floating floor put over them or perhaps just carpet?

I could live with them. It is a beautiful home. I was just surprised that there were no rugs placed in any of the rooms. We have hardwood floors in every inch of our home but rugs cover most of them.

There not really ugly, but they look like a pretty counter top or maybe a bathroom vanity LOL

Very expensive material though, I would have expected the house to be more. Other than that the house is beautiful and I love the pool area.

That is a very nice house. You can always change the floors, but you might grow to like them. I am sure they are easy to clean. I wish chicago had houses that look like that in that price range.

The floors are okay, I could see my Son's sliding all day though.

It is a beautiful house and the price is amazing. I am moving to TX. That house would be around $800,000 to $1,000,000 here.

Good luck in your decision.

I have to say that house is beautiful, around here a house like that goes for at least $2-3 million dollars

Where are you moving to?

Hmmmmmmm, Katy, TX. Maybe I will have to look there for retirement. GREAT price. :thumbsup2 What would taxes be?

I agree, I could live with them. At least they will NOT show any dirt or spills. I have hardwood floors throughout and have rugs covering them as well.

If you like the house ...cover the marble floors with rugs.

Are you sure nothing is wrong with it or the area.....seems like the price is quite low.

I think the marble looks "cold", but, I think you could put area rugs down over the marble and it would be beautiful. I wouldn't let the marble stop you from buying the house. It's something that can be covered pretty easily and inexpensively.

I think the floors are gorgeous and would be perfect for showcasing beautiful rugs that would enhance the theme or color scheme of a room. I always go for "different" and these floors aren't ones you see in evey run of the mill house. Looking like everyone else is boring! Dare to step out and be different and gorgeous at the same time. :teeth:

This is what a house that size runs here. We have about 10 in this price range we have been looking at on line. DH won't let me step inside one until ours sells. There has just been so many threads about flooring lately and no one has said anything about marble. I think I would like it in a bathroom or on a counter top, but this seems like such a large area.

Beautiful house! For that price, you bet I could live with it. If not, save some money and install what you want. Around here, there is no way you could get that much house for that amount of money. If you love the house, go for it! The floors are something that you can always change. Good luck! :thumbsup2

I didn't think they were that bad but I haven't seen them in person. Now that pink striped wallpaper in the bathroom would give me a headache :headache:

For that price around here you'd get a tar paper shack with a dirt floor. Grab it and worry about the floors later!

Sorry to hijack your thread but that would be an almost million dollar home around here.

BTW, It looks beautiful! :thumbsup2

Call me crazy, but I like it. And the price is amazing! Around here, I can't imagine it being any less than 1.5million. I would definitely put some rugs on it though, it looks a little naked otherwise.

I think the house and the floors are beautiful!!

Love the house, but I agree that the floors are pretty bad. And they have to be freezing in the winter. I love the wood floors in the dining and game rooms though! It's marble - that would be a lot of work to take out - but you can install laminate over it! That's a great price for that house too. Where I live, that house would be at least $600,000.
