I think I remember reading about dolls that you could buy at MK that were like look alike dolls of your DD.

1 where can you buy the dolls?
2 how much are they?
3 are they really look alike dolls? How do they match them?
4 do they have clothes that fit the dolls and the kids?

Thanks!!!

hi

on our last trip we discovered the dolls in the world of disney downtown. They struck me as American Girl doll look a like until my dd bought the one with the blonde hair and blue eyes and bought the little tinkerbelle outfit for the doll and when we came home she put it on the doll and fished my older dd tinkerbell outfit out of the closet and let me tell you they sure looked alike!!!

The dolls are very cute they have different hair and eye color to choose from and they came with a disney outfit fully equipped to go to the park with water bottle, fanny pack, autograph book, mouse ear hat, and a photo in an ear frame. Still love playing with her a year later. I think she'll probably come back to the world with us this year.

I remember they had a place in the toyshop in Germany pavillion that did custom porcellin dolls. Since I have a son, I didn't pay to much attention. You were able to pick the skin color, hair, color, eyes and an outfit. From what I remember, they were expensive, somewhere aroung $100 (?).

Also, I think there is an exclusive dollmaker in Germany in Epcot that you can have one made (also the princesses...) these are very adorable (and expensive)...maybe when the search engine is available you can search on doll or dollmaker...the guy's name starts with a "P" I think...sorry I am not much help -- but I HAVE read about it here, so I know the info is available thru SOMEONE here - ha

The dolls that are for sale at the world of disney with the park gear were very reasonable under $40 if I remember correctly.

They are dolls that you can dress and buy outfits to match for your child.

A totally unrelated-to-disney look alike doll is the My Twinn doll (www.mytwinn.com). They customize each doll by hair color, hair style, hair type, eye color, skin tone, etc.. They have an incredible likeness (even if your DD changes her hair style like mine did!) and are personally prepared for each child. They have a catelog of matching clothes. Some people also make outfits and sell them on eBay. My DD loves hers. And I must admit they are very high quality dolls.

I think the doll runs about 120-150.

Be wary of My Twinn, my daughter has one. Everytime we order something it stays on backorder for months and months. Once honest to God we ordered something in early August for her late September birthday and recieved it the next summer...

we bought the doll you are talking about. When we were there, they were EVERYWHERE. Ours has long brown hair. She has Mickey ears, Mickey Panties, Mickey socks (white with red MIckey Heads) denim shorts that have Mickey on them, a red shirt with Mickey on the front. Most of the stuff also says Walt Disney World on it. There is also some extras with it. We paid $40. They were all over the park. The Disney Store had a doll similar at one point, and the big difference that I noticed is that the WDW doll is skinnier. She is definitely thinner than an American Girl doll. She is very well put together, though. The only warning I have is to be sure to put her hair in braids when you get her if you are playing to have the doll played with. The quality of the hair is not very nice at all. So, keep it braided or in ponies.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone seen the matching outfits anywhere lately? My DD has outgrown some of hers and I would like to find a new set of PJ's. We have to get both her doll and herself ready for bed each night and DD is having a very had time getting into those jammies! Also if you want a matching shirt for your DD (like the one in the box) they had them at the DD World of Disney store but they were not next to the doll. Buy big, she still wants to wear that alot too. The ones in Germany are really beautiful but are more to collect than to play with.:)

not disney but Kohls (department store here in NJ) has barbie sized matching nightgowns.

Thanks Tinkermom. I have seen the Barbie ones at Kohls and K-Mart too. They are really cute! Does anyone know if the My Twinn clothes would fit the Disney Doll? I could order matching jammies for them both that way. :)

I don't have the My Twinn doll, but I always thought that they were a bit TALLER than an American Girl doll. The Disney doll is 18". I'd say that if you are trying for matching outfits, you should try to get American Girl clothes. They fit the doll just fine.

My dd would love to get a WDW outfit for her American Girl doll - are the outfits sold without a doll and do they fit the American Girl doll. She is already planning on looking for a mouse ears hat for Kit (the doll).
