general question , what is the furthest you have ever traveled by walking or running or jogging.

mine would be about 6.2 miles from college to my house which takes about 2 hours.

I have been able to do a 5K..that's it so far. I did the Couch to 5K program to build myself into it (was never a runner/exerciser prior to that).

I have done longer walks for things like March of Dimes but I can't remember the actual distance at this point.

Kind of a random question, but fun:rotfl:

We do a lot of 10K volksmarches, and that is the same as about 6.2 miles. We certainly have hiked much longer hikes than that at times though--and when we visit a city we can walk all day. I don't always (or very often at all) know the distance of a trail--it is not really on my radar most of the time, but I am pretty sure one this summer was marked as 18 km which is about 11 miles.

I walk 5 miles at least three days a week with a friend. It takes us about 1 hour and 35 minutes. My favorite time of the week.

A little over 10 miles. DH and I went on a hike in Idaho around a lake. It was a 10 mile hike but we got a little turned around after our lunch break so I can probably add an extra mile to that.

I did the Komen For the Cure 3-Day in 2007. It was 20 miles for each day. Total = 60 miles. I still have blisters!

26.2 miles, twice--not including the walk to the start or the walk from the finish. That nudges it to probably about 27 miles.

31.5 (once), 31 (a couple of times), 26.2 (10 or 12 times), ignoring walks to/from the finish line. I was thinking about trying for a 50-miler this year, but it won't happen until 2012.

I am hoping to hit 40 on my next trail ultra though.

20 km used to be my regular jog length, but that was when i was younger and in shape............hope to one day be back in shape and do a marathon in my lifetime..........but that may just be my over achiever tendancies :lmao:

The most I've run (well, jogged) is 6 miles. It took an hour and five minutes.
A friend and I did the Couch to 5K program this year. Prior to that I had never run more than a mile in my life. Our goal now is a mini-marathon (13 miles) in Indianapolis in May.

Boy Scouts who earn the Hiking merit badge used to have to do at least one 20 mile hike in a single day. Maybe they still do. In our instance, the Scout Master misread the map.....we hiked 27.4 miles.

And the well at the end was contaminated.

Hey there, fellow ex-Heidelberger! Mrs. Tex and I spent three years in Heidelberg in the late 1970's when she was stationed at the 130th Station Hospital. We volksmarched with the Heidelberg Wandering Club -- it was the American armed forces club there. (I was 2md Vice President for a year or so, and yes, it was spelled that way on my business card.) We'd frequently do two 42k walks on a weekend.

Longest walk -- we don't run unless something VERY BIG is chasing us -- was one badly-measured marathon that was right at 50k.

The furthest I have run/waked at one time is 26.2 miles not counting the walk to the start line and the walk to the bus after (which has to add another 2 miles or more) Did that 3 times and 2 times I ran/waked 39.3 miles in 2 days when I did the Goofy Race and Half Challenge.

I've walked in the walk for life- a cancer fundraiser- at Freehold raceway. I walked on and off all and all night- I think the race track is a 1/2 mile. So
I would guess the total mileage of at least 15 miles- luckily we are allowed to camp in the middle of the track and are able to eat and rest and have a few cold refreshments;)

10 miles - walking in the CROP walk (don't ask me what it stands for, it's been so long ago I don't remember  but it's a charity).

I don't run or jog, but do enjoy walking.

13.1 miles in the Disney 1/2 marathon, my first race ever! I'm not a runner, wasn't real prepared (my dad died of cancer the November before the January race), and my DH signed me up without my "OK." But I finished and had a good time. :)

DH has done the Goofy many times, many other marathons and has completed the Ironman (140.6 miles of swimming, biking, running). That was a HUGE accomplishment.

17 miles.

I had run a couple of half marathons and was considering a full so I kept training. Never did do the marathon!
