Hey all ! So--- I keep flip-flopping --- have gone on so many WDW vacations --- (just about every time of year) -- usually for 7-10 days. We have gone every Thanksgiving for the last 20+ years- (10-day trip)

We have gone in July the last few years ( usually July 4th week) -

Now that my DD has started middle school, not going to be able to take our usual Thanksgiving trip-

So, thinking about a longer trip in July - we can do 2 weeks in November with our eyes closed ( obviously much cooler and less humid)

The heat doesn't bother us too much- ( NYC is not exactly cool in the summer either - )

Wife has to work, so will be the three of us (DS7 and DD12)

Won't be going to the parks every day - staying at ASMu - thinking about 2 weeks with 9-day hoppers - (figure a day for travel between coming and going)

Thoughts ? TIA !!

We go in July often and we typically do 9 nights. That’s just enough for us to do everything we want with some relaxing time built in. Usually by the end I’m kinda ready to sleep in my own bed but within a month or so I’m ready to go back!! Two weeks sounds wonderful though. You would definitely have some days to just relax and enjoy!! Sounds like a blast. Have a great trip!

Back when our kids were younger and in school, we did a couple of 14 day stays at WDW. We'd go the second half of August. Glad those days are long gone.

Thanks so much !!! Yea-- Originally I had planned 9-10 days --- but I thnk the extra 4-5 days would be nice -
DD could spend the days just hanging out at Starbucks in DS !

Thanks again !

Thanks much ! I wish we could still take them in November -- but as long as it's Disney, they are good !

Since 2015, we've done 17 day trips every summer in June/July and will do so again this summer. We love it. We actually do go to the parks pretty much every day, but it'll vary a lot. Some days will be 8 hour days in the parks, some will be 4. Some days are water parks in the morning and parks at night, or vice versa. On shorter park days, we'll go swim at the rental house, go to gift shops or just chill. I look forward to the trip every year.

i think i'd do 10 days of park tickets on a 14 day stay if that's what you're asking.

longest trip we've done (in terms of park days) was 11, but that was in april and it was GRUELING.

Thanks so much !! Definitely thinking 15 days now :))

Yea-- was thinking of basically having 4 non-park days ---

Sounds great and relaxing. My 2 girls would spend the whole trip in Starbucks if I would
Let them!!

Our longest trip was over the December holidays 2017/2018. Lasted 12 days and bought park hoppers for either 8 or 9 days and the weather was fine except for that cold streak the end of the year. We never made it to any of the water parks on non park days due to the weather but still found enough non park attractions to keep us occupied between the hot tub @ the resort, just resting, and DS.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how much time to book for our summer trip which will commence the end of June thus I understand your dilemma. . So far I've booked 5 nights but still have the opportunity to add on if need be. I know our last trip during the hot season little people wanted to skip the theme parks for water parks and resort pools so I'm trying to factor that reality into our plans.

19 days this past late June/July. We spent a day at Uni, but otherwise went to one of the four main WDW parks every day (just a couple hrs on July 3 and 4 - spent most of those two days at the pool (Poly) or club lounge). We got APs (used them again for a 9 day Nov trip, and are going again in April, renew in June). We’d definitely do trips that length or longer again, but prob include a couple non-park/water park days.

I hear ya -- last July we hit the parks early and usually headed back to the hotel early for some quality pool time ( which the kids loved) - we also made sure we had days that we went to the parks later for the fireworks - all a balancing act with the little ones !

Thought about uni as well ! The kids have never been , so might be an idea !

We are staying 6/24-7/9 this summer. Our longest trip to date. Soooo excited! It is gonna be crazy hot so plan to hit pool/water parks and afternoon breaks (naps).

17 nights. That was in January. We had a villa so I did cooking most days. Don’t think I could do a long visit in a hotel room. We would need our space, but more importantly, we wouldn’t like all that restaurant food.

The long trips are great. Nice slow pace. You get to see everything you want. Great for fastpasses.

Also, I couldn’t do 17 days away from dh. My max for that is five days.

22 nights in August. It was our wedding (married at the Yacht Club) and honeymoon trip, with 3 universal and a couple waterpark days thrown in. We obviously were not open to close every day, but we were theee at open most days so it was a little cooler and less crowded.

Last summer, I was a newbie making plans on short notice (didn't commence planning until mid June, LOL); we arrived 4th of July which was brilliant transportation-wise so really didn't factor in the quality of the humidity. Ft Lauderdale/ Miami ain't Orlando:eek:. Was just talking to the man about early park arrivals, early afternoon departures w/ resort relaxation in between followed by a few late night park returns. I think it'll work with our latest crew who will be 17, 12.5, 9, and 8 y/o.
