Phew! Been trying to add on 40 VGF points direct for three weeks now. Have phoned to purchase them 4 times now. They have finally shown up in my account and are banked for my April 2016 trip. I'm thinking Poly must be selling very well they seem swamped!

That's a really long time either way - no matter how fast Poly is selling, you'd think they could manage to get it through in 2-3 days

Ha - I've been on the waitlist for more VGC for a year now!

Yes but these were points they are actively selling.... Can understand waiting if they don't actually have the points. Thats whyi bought my VGC resale!

That is a long time. Usually deposit over the phone and you are practically in the system. Congrats on your add-on!!!!

Mind sharing what they charged for a small contract? I've only bought resale at Boardwalk. What fees come with buying direct?

I have a VGC purchase take that long back when it was actively selling. Paperwork to enter the points supposedly was misplaced on the persons desk. I always thought it got "lost" with my guide but after 2 calls during that time it finally happened. Nice to have someone else in the group where direct took virtually as long as resale! :welcome:

And it isn't over yet, paying for the points is proving to be quite a saga as well. I have given my credit card details 4 times so an now trying a wire transfer and the swift code they have given me doesn't correspond to the bank address they gave me. Happy days. I thought it was just call up hand over card details get points but apparently not.

That's what was my first clue about the purchase not going quite like planned - they hadn't charged my card. Wow - I'd never switch to a wire transfer. I'd just call QA to talk about getting the CC processed if my guide wasn't getting it accomplished. Or a different guide. ;)

This is shocking to me. You'd think they'd be thrilled to make an easy sale like this even if it is for a small amount, but maybe its somehow more complicated on the back end to add to a membership profile so they procrastinate on the paperwork? Good luck I hope it gets sorted for you soon!

The transactions that both of us are talking about were add on's. Nothing more to set up than add the new contract to the existing membership. Normally that takes no more than a couple of hours.

I wrote add *to* a membership not add a membership.

Was just trying to think of a remotely rational explanation for why they'd drag their feet on this, and it being annoying to them to add onto a membership is the only reason I can see for why they wouldn't want to make the sale asap! : 0

Ach I think it is just carelessness and a busy time not a lack of desire for a sale.

I have my points now and have wired them the money. Making international calls to give my CC number got way old. Hopefully thats the end of it.

May be bad luck or it may be that DVD has told their people to do larger contracts first. If they can only process x amount of paper per day, they may have a reason to focus on larger contracts and/or focus on the Poly then other resorts. We will never know.

I wouldn't be surprised that the CMs when finally allowed to work their desk, so to speak, after being on Poly sales for weeks, the CM selected the higher points contracts first so (s)he would get credit for selling the points in January. Now that February is here they are cleaning up the older cases. Although IMO it would have made more sense to go for the quick easy ones like the OPs. It would really depend if DVC gives the CMs higher credit for selling large contracts versus many small contracts. If you have been stuck with trying to sell the Poly to DVC members that are only taking tours to gawk, then getting your month stats up might matter.
