Longest lines in DL

the longest line I have ever stood in was for those weird cars they used to have where the people mover was 4 hours, but those are gone now. The second longest line I ever stood in was for Indy from past the end of the queue through the WHOLE queue it was also 4 hours. The next day of that trip I rode jungle cruise and when the boat past indy our tour guide said "and to your left you will see one our popular rides Indiana Jones and the Temple of the FOUR hour line" I just abour peed my self laughing :rotfl2: Also anything New is gonna have a really bad line so TSMM for sure as well as Nemo and the IASM refurb. Also Peter pan can get pretty bad as well as any of the classics like pirates or HM.

Rocket Rods. It was probably long because they were always breaking. :sad2:

re: Indy...if you can, I strongly suggest the Single Rider line. It was brilliant! I thought I was just going to go into the main line at the big rotunda room before the movie, like the rider switch line I've experienced there before, but instead of that, after waiting a bit there, the CM had me go across and I got into the accessible line instead! Awesome. Since I'll be doing that line singly anyway until DS grows another 3 inches anyway, I might as well use the SR line instead of FP it or wait standby!

so molly, you're recommending the SR line instead of FP? cool...
DH and i want to ride it, but neither of our DDs are old enough yet....so where is the SR line?

also is there a SR line for Soarin??

There is indeed SR for Soarin'!

For Soarin' you'll see a sign at the FP entrance pointing Single Riders to go there. For Indy you go up to the greeter CM. For both, you ask the CM for a Single Rider pass. They'll give you a slip of paper explaining what to do, but they'll also tell you what to do.

With Soarin' you're just pointed to the right side, and then follow the line and each next CM's instructions. Be prepared for "looks" by people in the standby line. Also, you'll go quickly at first, then be stopped usually for awhile, until they know where there's an empty single seat for you.

For Indy after you have your pass, you go in the exit. That's tough, b/c people aren't expecting anyone coming in the exit, and they tend to block the hallway b/c they are excited and happy. So just know you'll encounter roadblocks. When doing SR lines hold my pass up so at least they can see I've got something different, and i'm not just confused or cheating.

When I did it last weekend, once you reach the room that's like a rotunda, there's a CM waiting. YOu show him/her the SR pass, and they'll have you wait for awhile. When they deem that enough time/people has/have passed, they'll stop the line so you can cross it, and they put me into the accessible line. You still do go through the movie room, but nowhere near as long as you'll be there with the FP and standby line. Then a bit further into the line, you'll see another CM who will take your pass (I think she did at least) and point you to an elevator...go up, along a small hall, down another elevator (you've crossed over the loading area), and then you'll be loaded.

That was MY experience with the FP last weekend, at least!

(FYI the SR line at TSMM is different, no pass involved. When it's open it seems to be just a line to the immediate left of the place the standby line goes into the main part of the building...just ask the CM at the front if it's open that day.)

Longest line by far is Nemo and I don't think it was worth it! I suppose it was good, now I can say I have been on the Nemo ride, but I will never wait that long again for it. I think Nemo is worth maybe a 5 min. wait, I know people think otherwise, but I don't think it was worth the wait.

Single rider lines seems to be much faster than FP, if you don't mind riding alone, find rides with SR. I don't mind riding a ride by myself, but DH does so we never do it. I saw plenty of couples in the SR line, not a bad deal, you can still wait with the people you are with and talk to them and then you are on the ride for 60 sec. by yourself. And you have more time to ride more things!

SR lines are fantastic!!!!!

BUT!!!!! They are not always open. Indy and Soarin do not always have SR it seems that during certain seasons or times they cut them, and then weeks later they are back. They are always worth a try but sadly not always available.

Splash Mountain has a SR most of the time which is great! So does Scream'n.
Grizzly also has one sometimes.

Toy Story has one BUT I have had 50/50 luck with it, several times we watched those people who would have been right behind us get on the ride right before or after us. Some days though we got on quick. Sadly the line length is no indication it matters more how many odd numbered families are in line and how many will accept a SR with their group.

I do a lot of solo trips so I try to mentally mark all the SR lines :)

It was nice to hear the CMs ask the familes/groups with odd numbers if they are OK with a single rider.

I always ask IF the SR line is open...at TSMM they have a sign about it which is nice, and at Indy they had a sign that was up on the day I went on it (I'd already grabbed a FP for it, which I gave away later). Soarin' I always have to ask but it's right there so that's simple...

Oh and Screamin' you have to go up to the CM at the front of the normal line, and if it's open you take your pass all the way out and halfway up the hill, and into the accessible entrance/exit...but if the single line is closed there you're right next to the FP machines anyway. :)

Man, I heard so many bad things about Autopia on here, before we went, that I never rode on it, and never wanted to!

:car: :car: :car: :car: :car: :car: :car:

Autopia really doesn't do much for teenagers or adults,

but my kiddos were DS5 and DD4 when they first rode it, and they love Autopia.

Another really slow-loader is Dumbo. :dumbo:

No one mentioned:

Gadget's Go Coaster (another fun ride for the young tykes)
Mickey's House
Minnie's House
Roger Rabbit (RRCTS)

A good time to visit Toontown is early on a Tues/Thurs/Sun; on those days Toontown doesn't have Morning Madness, and Toontown opens 1 hour after DL's regular opening time.

The FP machine for Roger Rabbit (RRCTS) is disconnected.

*******

Mulholland Madness is another ride with a long wait. And it's just a "wild-mouse" -- although it's fun for the youngsters who aren't tall enough for Screamin'.

But waiting 80 or 90 minutes for Mulholland is...... Madness. :earsboy:

Luckily Mulholland Madness has FastPass.

Here's HydroGuy's FastPass list: :cool1:

DL
1. Space Mtn (get FP @8:10AM - next FP time will be 8:55AM - you can use this FP anytime after 8:55AM)
2. Splash Mtn (get FP @8:55AM - next FP time will be 9:40AM - you can use this FP anytime after 9:40AM)
3. Indiana Jones (get FP @9:40AM - next FP time will be about 10:30AM - you can use this FP anytime after 10:30AM)
4. Buzz Lightyear (get FP @10:30AM - next FP time will be about 11:15AM - you can use this FP anytime after 11:15AM)
5. Big Thunder Mtn RR (get FP @11:15AM - next FP time will be about 12:00PM - you can use this FP anytime after 12:00PM)
6. Autopia (get FP @12:00PM - next FP time will be about 12:45PM - you can use this FP anytime after about 12:45PM)

It really is not that hard to do the above by 2PM as long as you start at 8AM. If you really want to focus as above, you can get one of everything by lunch.

There is one other FP opportunity at DL: Roger Rabbit. Roger Rabbit is not connected to the DL FP system and you can get one anytime you want without conflict with other DL FastPasses.

Further, I no longer get FPs for Autopia after realizing the FP return line can be a 25 minute wait. If I only had one day at DL, I would get an Autopia FP. But if I had multiple days, I would plan Autopia for an early morning thru the standby line.

DCA

Similar logic holds. Here is the ideal order to get FastPasses:

1. Soaring over Ca
2. California Screamin
3. Tower of Terror
4. Mulholland Madness
[5. Grizzly River Run]

From this thread (post #4).

Rocket rods? We waited 5 hours once. And soon the park was closing. And the ride kept breaking down so the line wouldn't move for like 30 mins at a time. But it was going to be our first time riding it :lmao: Ugh that was bad. We actually ended up not getting to ride because it was 30 mins after park closing and they were having issues so everyone had to leave the line. Super lame.

I agree autopia sucks. It is slooooow moving. And when it's warm outside that line is AWFUL!

I like Autopia (not the lines!) but maybe that's just because I'm used to the sucktastic Indy Speedway in Florida. Now THAT'S a bad attraction. At least in DL you get to ride for more than 30 seconds.

Another long wait is Astro Orbitor, a.k.a. rocket-Dumbo. :upsidedow

The line quickly grows and it seems to have at least a 30 minute wait -- and the ride lasts a minute and a half.

AO is a second-tier ride, but children like it... and Eli Manning. :earsboy:

1. Matterhorn
2. Space Moutain
3. Indy
4. Splash Moutain
5. Dumbo
6. The Ladies Bathroom.

Actually DLR is the one place I never had to wait in line in the bathroom! Even on one of busiest, craziest days after NYE I never had to wait! Maybe I've been lucky to hit right one at the right time, but I was impressed. :)

Monthly trip with Calvin and I had to wait at Rancho Zocalo restroom after Fantasmic. Normally I do not have to wait but then again I go before I get myself in a place that will have long lines. Also I think this month at Ariels but this month is a whirlwind.

Long lines for meet and greets especially Pixie Hollow. Them mommas are running down there as soon as they can and it is a slow moving line.
