Mixed opinion so far, I still think it's Madness. I think ultimatley only you can decide - you are always going to get a split decision on something like this.

I suppose some people would think walking around a busy theme park in intense heat is madness also, but many of us have done that in the past in the summer.

I do think it's positive that you are considering going just for Universal though especially as some of the best rides are to be found there.

FUN FUN FUN!!! Definately go for it, I would in a heartbeat, and you will get so much done without the kids, its amazing how fast me and DH went in August

Go for it!! You will wake up so early that you will be able to get to the parks really early.

Thanks for all your comments, we have decided to go for it! The lure of the riding the rides together with no baby swap, no rigid routines (eldest son has aspergers) and city walk at night is just too great!

We know we are going to be so tired when we get home - but who cares!!

Now for the planning

Thats great, you will really notice the difference without the kids, no babyswap, stopping for the toilet and snacks a million times a day, but be warned, you will be fascinated by everybody else's children and want to watch their reactions to things, its parental instinct I think. happy planning

It is really easy to get round the parks when it is just 2 adults and you know the parks

Please do Margaritaville for me! I have such great memories of that place. Get there early, get yourselves a seat at the bar and settle in for the night. If you don't know any Jimmy Buffet tracks, download some now! Songs You Know By Heart is a good place to start and will have you singing along.

I done it earlier this year for my nephews wedding, we flew on fri morning from glasgow, came back mon pm.

It was fantastic, great flight, grabbed some sleep on the way back and had a terrific time,

I say go for it.

Ps my brother and sister in law have a villa they recently bought and they have done it a few times.
