Long wait lines.

We would be at one park for rope drop, enjoy everything and have lunch, then hop to the park where we had our fastpasses. The system worked well for us.

THIS!!!!! This is what I plan to do when I take my daughter in September. We have hoppers, are staying at Pop. We will do RD at a park til midday, then go back to Pop for a rest, then evening at another park and THAT park is where I will have my FP+ scheduled.

I am so glad to hear that this worked for you, and when we go it will be lower crowds too. Thanks for sharing this :)

When we've been in that situation, and we can't see the line, my approach is to walk in to see how long the line is and maybe give it 5 or 10 minutes to see how it's moving.

One night a few years ago I walked into Soarin at about 8 PM on a night in January when the posted wait time was 30 minutes. I walked all the way to the FP merge point and there were literally fewer than 10 people there. In other words, the wait time was as short as that ride can possibly be. If the line had looked longer than I had been willing to wait, I would have just walked out.

We were out of steam at that point. We started the morning in Sanibel on the beach, drove to Orlando, checked into our resort and got to the parks at 2:30. By 12:45 I was OVER playing games with wait times. A reliable time would have been helpful.

We just got back from a trip as well (must have been there at the same time as OP) and didn't wait very long at all in any line. In fact, we pretty much walked on to some rides like BTMRR! This was with a posted wait time of 20 minutes in standby! We had a great trip and used our FP+ as well as morning extra magic hours to maximize our riding ability. I think the longest we waited was about 30 minutes on Pooh. I never would have done that, but I was with my youngest DD while DH took the older 2 on space and we needed to ride something because it was starting to rain. I had the hardest time keeping her out of the play area and keeping her hands off of all the germy bees and the honey wall!!! Yes, I'm one of those parents who doesn't want her kids to touch anything. Must have worked because they didn't get sick, thankfully.

I'm not sure what a 5 is supposed to equal in minutes, but it is listed as average crowds. And to me, those times don't seem above average. They seem normal for a day that is not dead yet not exceedingly busy.

Agree to disagree I suppose. According to TP, those wait times are the expected peak waits on crowd level 8 days, much longer than level 5.

Maybe it is because we are talking about 2 different web sites and their numbers?:confused3 Though I have to laugh at the thought that on a level 8 day you could get on Small World in under an hour.

I want to add, I just went over to check out Touring Plans, and I must be visiting the parks when it is really busy. Because to say that anything just over an hour of a wait for Splash is a level 10 just seems crazy low. I've been to the parks on level 10 days, and seen Splash have over a 2 hour wait. I think his estimates are really low.

You have to laugh at not waiting an hour to get on IASW on a level 8 day? I'm pretty sure it's extremely rare to wait that long.

I've looked at both easydw and tp, but in this case, I'm talking about tp projections based on prior data vs. the current posted times.

As for Splash, they list around an hour (54-65 mins) as a level 8- level 10 is listed as more than 78 mins.
