For my longest run before the half (10 miles), I will be at WDW. :cool1: I can't think of a better place to be. :teeth:

Anyone have any suggestions of a good place in WDW to run this? I'll actually be staying offsite - somewhere really close by.

You may want to check out the site www.disneyrunning.com There are quite a few "official" running trail maps listed there.

There are bunches of places to run. I've run an 18 miler and several 8-10 mile runs around the Boardwalk/Studios/CBR area. I've also run quite a bit around the Contempory/MK area and the GF/Poly/TTC/MK Parking Lot area. In most all cases, I have stayed off of the "main roads" with the exception of getting from the Boardwalk to the CBR.

The town of Celebration is also a cool place to run.

You may try using this site to map out your course.

Susie--I may be banished from the DIS forever for saying this, but I actually do not enjoy running LRs at Disney (other than the marathon, of course :) ).

It is difficult to find a route for a long run that does not involve tons of "laps," but even more than that, I do not enjoy running long runs on concrete. A lot of the running paths that Disney makes available for runners are concrete--as opposed to asphalt. Most of the roads are asphalt, but running alongsided the roads is discouraged (and dangerous). I have not done so, but I have read threads where people have been stopped along roadways by Disney security and asked to find a different course to run.

That being said, my favorite places to run at Disney are the paths between Fort Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge and the internal roads and paths at Saratoga Springs.

As im4disney said, the BW/Studios area is pretty cool, too, especially in the morning before the "World" wakes up. I have not run in Celebration, but I bet that would be good, too.

im and Steve - thanks for the suggestions. :thumbsup2

I may check out Celebration in addition to the places you mentioned at WDW. Steve, you're right - I don't want to run on concrete. Yikes!
