Long Lines

Have them pee before getting in a long line. Utilize fast pass so waits aren't that long. Make sure you stop about every hour or so for a bathroom break. Tell them that they have to try, it's not a choice. My son always says he doesn't have to go, but I know better. I tell him we are all going to try and go potty and it is not a choice. He has not had an accident at Disney.

Yes always ask before getting in line and any line over 30 minutes is an automatic BR trip whether they say they have to go or not. And yes the 3 yr old HAS TO TRY! even if they swear they don't have to go, I'm assuming you mean the 3 yr old because a 6 yr old is certainly old enough to know when they have to go and to hold it if necessary (school)

Our rule was that every time anyone had to use the toilet, everyone had to use the toilet. Went 15 minutes ago? That's OK. Everyone goes when anyone goes.

Every kid is different as far as bladder maturity goes, but if my 6yo (who hates public bathrooms, and will claim that she does not need to go) wet herself while standing in line, we'd be spending the rest of the day back at the resort in the room, where she wouldn't have to worry about being too far from the bathroom to make it.

The only time we've come close, we had to squirm up through about 20 people to the front of the TOT line, ask to be let down the chicken elevator, and run (me carrying her) to the not-at-all-close-to-there bathroom. That was when she was 4, and it made me much stricter with the "everyone goes when anyone goes" rule.

I took my newly trained two year old son this September and he only had one accident the whole week. (in our hotel room, while I was in the bathroom, oh well) We hit the bathrooms every time we got off a ride. That way, he didn't feel like he was being told to wait for a ride, we just went when we were done. Sometimes with mom, sometimes with dad, sometimes with a friend. Often, one of us would get in line to get a snack while the other took the bathroom break, then there was something good waiting after the bathroom trip.

Use every bathroom you pass! We also have the "if one person goes, everyone goes rule." Also, in reference to the 6 year old, my son wet himself two year in a row in Mk. He was 5 and 6. He was so excited and having a good time he didn't want to stop to go. By the time he said he had to go he was so "full" he couldn't make it to the bathroom, even at a dead run. So, I have since learned to hit every bathroom!

also be aware of dietary changes. my 4 year old had one accident during our trip- i gave her two glasses of juice one meal- and she doesn't normally get whole juice- anyway, it only took about 30 minutes to tear her tummy up.
