Just got off phone with Jetblue. They are interested in seeing if Islip Macarthur would be a good airport to add. They respond to customer feedback. If you would like to see Jetblue at Islip like I would go to Jetblue.com click on Help. Go to Tell me where to fly. Write in Islip Macarthur and Orlando as destination. Maybe we can have some choices instead of only SWA. Even if you have Jetblue at your home airport could you help us get it at ours?? Please go to Help and click on Tell us where to fly and put in Islip NY and destination Orlando . With our fellow Dis'ers help maybe I and my fellow Long Islanders can afford to Go Home again more frequently flying Jetblue.

Thanks for the heads up -- I will do that since Islip is a much better trip for us here on the North Fork!

Did you post this on the Transportation board too -- that should get some responses :thumbsup2

Yup. I plan on putting it on CB this evening with the most traffic.

Just did it. Thanks for the idea. Hope it works!

we love the convenice, cleanliness, & uncrowded conditions at ISP :lovestruc
SWA, however, is not one of our favorite airlines.
it would be great to see a little competition there :thumbsup2

We fly JetBlue all the time (going again in May), even though we could fly SW for free (stand by as my SIL works there). Love JetBlue...this issue was bounced around 2 or 3 years ago before the SW terminal was renovated/expanded. I live several minutes away from McArthur airport and I remember that I thought the town decided upon letting SW expand vs. building a new terminal for JetBlue. That being said with all of the money that was spend on the new addition of T5 at Kennedy I am not all that hopeful that JetBlue will make it to Long Island any time soon :sad2:, although it would be fantastic. I will most certainly do my part and go the website as suggested. I am also part of a JetView study that gets involved in filling out questionaires sent by JetBlue and from now on when I can I will certainly put my two cents in about wanting JetBlue coming to L.I.:thumbsup2

Thanks for starting this thread TwingleMum...I just filled out the information and I am forwarding it to my friends and family who also live here on the island.

Live west of Indianapolis but what the heck signed on for ya even had DD 16 sign on for ya...GOOD LUCK:thumbsup2 Shawnpirate:

Going over to the site and signing up. We would LOVE for them to fly out of Islip.

I know all about the past. No one ever applied pressure to Jetblue to let them know how big a fan base they would have here. Also LI is a very wealthy area. With lots of people going to WDW. Ask anyone when you go there we are one of their top areas for tourists. So it would be very lucrative for Jetblue. And in this economy I can't see the town turning down business or not figuring out a way to get it done, because I'm flying Jetblue this trip Islip maybe closer to me but JFK isn't far. No JB at Islip I'll start going to JFK exclusively. My Jetblue fare was $200-$300 less than SWA when I booked in February. Last week I checked my flight and it dropped $500. Jetblue gave me a $500 credit with no charge. This morning it dropped another $250. Thats a $750 credit with no hassle. Great customer service. Also I prefer having assigned seats so I don't have to worry about my 3 young boys and sitting all together. Or making sure I'm at Customer Relations in the park exactly 24 hrs before my departing flight so I get an A boarding pass. Ridiculous.

Twinglemum I totally agree with what you are saying...We have been going to WDW every year since 2003 (sometimes even twice per year) and we always fly JetBlue. Flew SW our first time in 2003 and it was horrible...never again. I just hope that the town politics and other BS would not hurt JetBlue's chances of getting in at McArthur...lots of loyalty to SW around my neighborhood.

A little competition for Southwest would be great!

I agree jpolak...Yankee fans here also......we are 10 min away from IPS..and fly Southwest all the time..never had any problems... but it would be nice to have a choice....

We always fly JB. I've already gone onto the website & adding my 2 cents. Told DH he needs to to the same thing. We r leaving on Friday and as usual it's a JB flight. When I told DH about this thread his response was "hopefully they'll have direct flights."
I agree with Twinglemum. it's a pain in the but having to do the online checkin 24hrs just to get an an grouping. SW reminds me of a cattle car :rotfl2:
Tomorrow I'm going to make sure that all my friends and family go to JB & let them know we want them to fly out of ISLIP!!!

I remember reading somewhere that JetBlue as a general rule of their buisness model would not go into an airport where another discount carrier was already located. But hey, can't hurt to goto the website and try!

I'm also a jetviews survey member- don't really know what good it does or if anyone even reads the responses but I'll try that to
