Long Island Private Elementary School?

I have been searching on line for the private schools information on Long Island, New York. I saw some Disers are from Long Island. So I decided to post my question here. Can you recommend some good private elemetary schools in nassau area? Not every schools I search on line disclose tuiton. I also like to know a rough idea of tuition for each school. Is there a website that provided updated information? I was thinking about moving to a better school district but DH thinks private schools is better than public schools. Instead of buying the house costing $200,000 more today, it might make senses to send DD to private school all the way. I noticed there is a private school near me (10-15 minutes) away from my house but it's for grade 6-12 and tuition is reasonable. But now I am looking for a nice privare elementary school. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I went to Upper Room in Dix Hills, it is a Christian School.

Thanks for the information. It's a little far from me (east meadow/westbury area). I will keep it in mind though. I found couples schools in the area but how do you really know it's a good school? They are all like $7,000 range ( I assume it's for annual tuition) but beside to check out the school on the open house day, where/how can I get some personal experiences that someone's kid actually goes there and review it? I am planning way ahead of my game (there are 2 more years before DD goes to kindergarten) also DD has a Jan birthdeay so I also need to find a school who is not strict on the 5 years old cut off date. Moving to a better school (to me is Syosset or Jericho) is one of my option. But I would like to see if there is someone can provide me with their experiences of sending their children to private school and happy with it.

I think Kellenberg starts at middle school. Maybe they have grammr school they are affliated with.

Actually Kellenberg is what I have in mind. That's why I am looking for the private elementary schools. Thanks for the information. DH belongs to roman catholic church so Kellenberg could be a good choice. I only hope DD will be able to get in when she grows up.

What are the schools affiliated with St Raphael's in East Meadow.
I know they closed their elementary schol a few years ago,
but they are in the same dicese.

Is St. Bernard's in Levittown still open? My dad went there and then on to Chaminade (back in 1962, it was $37 a month)! LOL

I went to St. Ignatius in Hicksville and my sister went to St. Edwards in Syosset. The problem we had with each of the schools was that the materials they were teaching weren't as advanced as what was going on in public schools (advanced programs in math/science weren't available). Also, they had limited programs for special ed students (my brother was a slower student- I'm sure they'd call him ADD if he was a kid nowadays).

My sisters currently go to Jericho public schools, which are excellent. IMHO, it's worth it to be in one of those districts if you can afford it. DH and I can't afford to live in Jericho or Syosset, but luckily our DD is only 4 months, so we have plenty of time before we have to worry about her schooling.

It closed 3 years ago. It wasn't a very good school in the last years.

Do you know where your Dad lived then?

Sacred Heart in North Merrick is a very nice church and was a very good school. It's right on Merrick Avenue.

There is also a private school on Merrick Avenue, but I'm not sure of the name.
