We used to love having breakfast at Tony's in the MK. We would always eat breakfast there at least once on every trip.

We also enjoy eating at Bonfamilies at POFQ when we stayed there.

The quite fancy Gulf Coast Room at the Contemporary. Menus for the gals did not have prices. Our daughter loved the hot fudge sundae made at the table. Ah yes, memories!!

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. I recently picked up a WDW cookbook at a yard sale and nearly all the restaurant names are changed. I had been wondering about where all the places had gone - since 1991!!!

Delicious choices, BTW - one of the early Creme Brulees and some tricolored pasta with Shrimp are our faves.It was a great find!!!

I remember Fantasyland used to have an outdoor counter service place...I think it was called Gurgies Munchies and Crunchies??? There were a lot of kid's meals on the menu and I remember ordering their corndogs a few times.

I also used to like eating at the Italian restaurant at innoventions. I think the real name was Pasta Piazza but I always gpt it wrong

Coral Isle Cafe - now Kona's - used to have the BEST egg rolls! So good that during 1st pregnancy I had terrible cravings for them. DH actually surprised me with them when he had friends bring them back on the plane!

Oh I am swooning over Ariel's as a wedding reception place now. It was one of our favorites and it was so pretty. I think it is going to be a beautiful place to host a wedding!! congratulations.

We booked a honeymoon package in 1983 and it included 3 dinner shows. The luau, hoop de doo and dinner show at the Top of the World. We went and I remember us feeling a little awkward because everyone seemed a bit older than we were used to. After dinner there was dancing and it was old fashioned cheek to cheek dancing but we got out there with everybody else and had a great time. The waitress told the band leader that we were on our honeymoon so he got us up and asked what our song was and of course played it while we did the spotlight dance. Halfway through he asked everyone to join in, just like at the wedding...............it was great! It was a magical Disney night and remains a magical Disney memory!

The character meal on the Empress Lily back in the 80s was the only place where you could see Donald Duck. He was DS's favorite character so we had to go there. Lots of character meals have been discontinued. There used to be one at Artist Point, at Olivia's, Fort Wilderness ("Wake up, you silly Moose"!-my favorite), Empress Lily, the one at Ohana's used to be a buffet (Minnie's Menehuene in 1987), a different one in the area where Chef Mickey's is (1989), and there was a great Sunday Brunch at the Top of the World.

I remember going to the breakfast at Ft Wilderness in Pioneer Hall with Chip and Dale and Melvin the Moose. They had the BEST chocolate chip muffins. I think I have the ticket stubs in a scrapbook somewhere.

The first one which sprang to mind was already gotten by dcgrumpy: The Tangaroa Terrace. That was where Cheryl & I had our first meal together as husband and wife. I truly wish it was open again for our anniversary trip...

We went to the luau on our honeymoon in 1986. The cost per person was about 25.00 and it included all-you-could-drink mai tais!

There was an awesome Kikomen sandwich place by adventure land. Also in the Land there was a great potato place that made terryaki potatos . Can you tell I like terryaki

There was a great character breakfast at MGM with the characters from Aladdin and Hunchback - I remember how excited DS was to get such 'rare' (at the time) autographs and pics.
We also miss Aunt Polly's Landing on Tom Sawyer's Island when it served fried chicken and PBJs - it was a great place to get out of the crowds when the park was busy.
The character b'fast on the Empress Lilly was such a BIG DEAL back when it was the only one (or maybe Minnie's Menehuena ran at the same time - know we did both, but don't remember if it was the same trip) !

Re: Ariel's - the first time we stayed at YC in 1997, I think the restaurant was still open. By our next visit in 1998 (and ever since then), it has been closed (but is used for special events, as others have mentioned). I have often wondered why it closed in the first place and why the space has not been converted to something else in the meantime (such as a larger Beaches & Cream or some other restaurant). I know there are plenty of restaurants in the whole YC/BC/BW/S/D area, but I can't believe that leaving the space largely unused really makes sense.

The restaurant at Disney Inn was called the Garden Room...or the Garden Gallery...something Garden...it was great!

I remember Heidelburg Deli at the Village. And all the other places already mentioned. Tony's for breakfast was a tradition for me and my mom...

Diamond Horseshoe Jamboree used to be a lunch and dinner show (boxed lunchs).

King Stefan's restaurant (where Cinderella's Royal Table is currently). It was always a bit strange as King Stefan is not Cinderella's dad.

I think it was "Minnie's Kitchen" that was located where WGP Express is now. I was also going to mention Odyssey and the old location of Chef Mickey's. One of the main things is that the restaurants change...like Liberty Tree Tavern now has character meals, H&V and Crytal Palace used to be cafeteria style, Biergarten used to be TS instead of buffet...I could go on and on.

Minnie Mia's was at the Wolfgang Puck Express location. Goofy's Grill and Donald's Dairy Dip were replaced by Ghiradelli.

Soundstage at MGM. Catwalk was above it. Now Bear in Big Blue House.

We loved it here because it was a Character Meal at all meals. First time we went we met about 6 characters including Beauty and the Beast in formal clothing. Second time we met again 6 or so including Genie and Jafar for the first time ever, then after we ate we were invited upstairs for a private meeting with Aladdin and Jasmine. Last time we went there were so many characters and being we purposely got the last seating we ended up with about 4-5 characters SITTING at our table and interacting. Met John Ratcliff, Meeko, Quasimodo........

We thought it was the best character interaction and miss going !

That was a great place for a character meal.

Okay, put on your thinking caps. I went as a child with my family in 1981. We had our only character meal in this room that I remeber being white and no windows. I seem to remember it being in a basement but I can't imagine that being the case. Does anyone remember what restaurant I am talking about? My family has been discussing it and we can't figure it out. My mom does not even know if it was in a park or hotel!

Wasn't there a place that had pizza next to Mrs. Potts? Pinochios had friend chicken
