What happens when say several hundred people are waiting in the bus lines in the morning to go to Magic Kingdom and other parks? I know there's multiple buses, but what if I'm behind 500 people, how long would it be until I got to Magic Kingdom?

One nice thing at values is there is a line, it's not just a big crowd like at open stops. I've seen long lines but they move quickly. Disney is great about bringing more busses and filling the ones there. I wouldn't worry too much.

where did you get the idea that there are hundreds of people waiting to board the MK bus?
i have never seen 500 people in line at the buses in the morning.
i've had to wait for a second bus sometimes.
thats what you'd do. you'd wait for another one to come.

at night going from the parks to the resorts its a bit of a different story.
there are lots of people at that time and the lines have the capcity for it.
you'll notice that when one bus pulls away another one will be stopping right after them.
often times at MK the load buses two at a time for some of the values.
again if you don't get on one bus you'll have to wait for another one.
you may have to wait a few times.

I have never seen anywhere that number of people waiting to go to the parks. If I am in a huge hurry for some reason, I take a cab to where I want to go. Otherwise I wait for the next bus.

From another thread of mine, but it sounds like the Diser was exaggerating a little bit. At least I hope.

i went and read that thread so i'd know what was said.
yeah i'd say there was exaggeration in that amount.
also if you look at where that poster is used to staying they are a DVC member and mostly stay at deluxe resorts and in fact did a split stay during their AOA experience so going from a DVC deluxe to a very themed and popular value resort i'm not surprised at their overreaction of the number of people in the bus line to MK.

i have stayed at every value except ASMU and i can tell you that never once have i experienced super long lines from the resorts to the parks.

Yeah, lots of exaggeration going on on that other thread. I have stayed at values many many times. And yes, they do feel busier than the moderates for some reason. But sometimes I like that! Other trips I want a more laid back place to return to and conk out.

I don't think the crowds would bother me. And I showed my younger DD pictures of all the giant icons and she was very fascinated with them.

We stayed at POP in Dec. and never waited more than 5 min. for buses. In fact the 1st morning we were headed to MK they had charter style buses coming to add to the fleet, maybe because it was the week before Christmas and busier. That was the best ride to MK I ever had! It was like riding DME to MK - had a seat, and a comfortable one! We saw others for different resorts throughout the week. Coming back from the parks at night, if a bus had just left another would be coming right behind as PP mentioned. However we did stand several times, which is tough at the end of a long day, especially for DD who had a knee brace on for an injury. Luckily, a few adults made room for her on some of the trips when they noticed.

We stay at POP every trip, have we waited for a 2nd bus in the morning yes we have. MK buses tend to come quickly. The only time I've ever seen an extremely long line up was one night before MNSSHP and that line was all the way to the entrance to POP, and no that's not an exaggeration. Even with the line being that long they still had maybe a 5 min wait between buses. I wouldn't let the bus lines deter you for MK. The only other time I waited a long time for a bus was going to Disney Springs and that was about 10-15 mins and I was the 2nd person in line and it was around 6pm on a Sunday.

I've only stayed at Pop once but our experience wasn't so much waiting for buses in the morning, but after the park closed. We had long waits after illuminations and Fantasmic. We drove to MK because we were tired of waiting at the bus stop in the evening with sleeping children.

When we stayed at POP 2014 it was pretty busy so they brought out the Articulated busses.
They carry nearly twice as many passengers as a standard length bus.
We never had to wait for a second bus to get to the MK.

When thousands of people are trying to leave the parks all at once, the buses are bound to back up a bit.

We've stayed at all the resort levels. AoA had very long bus lines in the morning. They kept calling for additional busses and even the CMs were frustrated that more weren't coming more quickly. We ended up taking a cab to DHS because it was our last day before heading to the airport. However, my mother was at Wilderness Lodge and the wait for a bus to DHS was so bad, over 45 minutes, that she walked over to get a cab as well and the resort felt so bad they drove her over to DHS in a hotel van.

So my point is bus service at WDW is terrible everywhere! Not just at the values. That's why we stay deluxe.. So we have other options for at least one park!

Bus service is not "terrible" everywhere. Most of the time it runs very smoothly. Moving thousands of people each and every day for around 18 hours a day there will be a few glitches here and there. And if that is not acceptable, then taxis are plentiful. Or renting a car is a very good option for many.

Btw, the Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort.

When I was at POP there was a Cast Member with an iPad that coordinated things. Never waited too long for a bus, even going back from the Parks I never waited a terrible amount of time. Sometimes you were a little jammed in, but overall it was a good experience.
