London / Paris Here We Come!!! 9/2 - 9/10/11

After reading about all the people flying out of Philly (8/31) on the same flight over on the Foxtrot Oscar thread, it got me thinking about how many of us might be on the same flights and not know it. It wasn't until I got to the gate last year leaving for my Backstage Magic trip that I realize some fellow DISers were on the same flight.

Anybody flying Delta out of Atlanta on 9/1? Probably not...I think I'm going to be the last one to arrive...:rolleyes1

We have a direct flight out of Houston on 8/31 on Unitednental or Continited.

I'm flying United (via Air Canada) out of Toronto on 8/27. I'm flying back from CDG to IAD at 12:25pm on United.

Sayhello

ETA: OMG, I just realized that's 2 months from TODAY that I'm leaving! :yay: :woohoo::woohoo:

This is Shakespeare Sonnet 65

SONNET 65

Since brass, nor stone, nor earth, nor boundless sea,
But sad mortality o'er-sways their power,
How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea,
Whose action is no stronger than a flower?
O, how shall summer's honey breath hold out
Against the wreckful siege of battering days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong, but Time decays?
O fearful meditation! where, alack,
Shall Time's best jewel from Time's chest lie hid?
Or what strong hand can hold his swift foot back?
Or who his spoil of beauty can forbid?
O, none, unless this miracle have might,
That in black ink my love may still shine bright.

This is notable because our Adventure in England starts in.....wait for it....

I might be the last one to arrive. I fly out on 9/1 from Chicago on United, arriving at Heathrow at 11:15am.

And the Shakespeare had me thinking. Is it bad that I'd rather catch a Shakespeare play than see "The Lion King"?

It's not *bad*. :) But it's probably because where you live, you can see fabulous plays any time you want to! :goodvibes

I can beat that. My flight got changed. I'm not arriving at Heathrow until 12:15.

For now. I expect United to change my flight closer to the trip date. They do that to me a lot.
They've done that to me several times already. Except, for me, the nice buffer I'd given myself between the legs of my flight is slowly disappearing. :sad2:

Stop it, airline minions! Give Tobi her time buffer!

I'm having a :scared1::scared1::scared1: moment...... My "London list" is growing and time to do it isn't! ACK!

Ater a weekend of fruitless Lego research, there may not be anything exclusive at the London store while we are there. So, I've moved on to Plan B...... the toy store Kate recommended is sounding really good, and it's quite close to Picadilly Circus (on the list) and a good spot for fish and chips (also on the list).

Now to figure out when to work in Harrod's and the amazing Indian restaurant close to the Tower of London....... :surfweb:

For my fellow foodies..... I've also discovered a shop in Paris that sells nothing but mustard.....:upsidedow

Good luck the the new plan for Lego! Indian food, well, the curries, that's my food nemesis. That's my major food aversion. I can handle tandoori, but the smell of Indian curries makes me ill.

And mustard doesn't do it for me. If it was a cheese shop... :cloud9:

Hamley's is an amazing toy store. I am pretty sure I will be in central London at least once before September, I will try and report back about Lego! :goodvibes
