Yes there's a Premier Inn, which is about 200 yards up from the station, towards Euston. The other hotel I can recommend is the Novotel, directly opposite the Premier Inn. A little more expensive but the breakfasts are great.
we stayed at the travelodge ,london royal scott and then walked 10mins to the satation. we only paid £50 and it was great will stay there again although the prices now are about £80 but would pay £150 if i needed to.
we were there 17th jan.

We are staying in the royal scott too. We have booked two family rooms for the eight of us and it was only £29 for each room. Go onto the travel lodge site and look at the saver room section, you may just be lucky.
We stayed at the Crestfield Hotel for one night on our trip and it was fine. £65 for a twin room inc breakfast, also even though we could see the entrance to Kings Cross from the front door it was really quiet. And less than 5 min walk.
I'm at my parents at the mo but I have a link on my computer showing a map with all the hotels in the St Pancras/Kings Cross area which is really useful combined with the reviews of the hotels on Trip Advisor. When I get home I will post the link for you.
travel lodge kings cross is just across the road from st pancreas, just try and get a room away from the back of the hotel as the trains go past every couple of minutes even during the night
