Two..it is nice to know there are others in the same boat we are in!!

I must say though, my MIL and I have gotten along pretty well recently.
She had a major heart attack Christmas Day, so we were all trying to help her.
She never has accepted me, we just tolerate each other.

My DH can't say too much about my mom. She keeps her nose out of our business.
But, she is a selfish woman. We try to help her out, but then she becomes very needy. She says we are suppose to pay her bills, and take her to appts like her friends kids do.
Well, her friends kids are 50 plus years old and do not have young kids!!!

AAAAHHHH!!!! Please keep this post around to remind me I do not want to become my mother or be like my MIL.

My MIL is actually very pretty - just ask her she'll tell you and also how young she looks for her age

Anyway she is not a bad person. I have learned to accept her for who she is and expect nothing more.

I only hope some day when my future DILs and SIL talk about me they will have good things to say - that really worries me.

My sister said her DS and DIL were saying she reminded them of the woman on Everybody loves Raymond. Of course she thought they meant Debra - but no, they meant the mother . She was shocked and horrified.

My MIL was a beauty in her day, and she never lets you forget it!

In fact, she still looks pretty darned good for a 70-year old woman. My FIL is also very handsome - my husband takes after his father and I am glad to see how well his father has aged.

Unfortunately, neither is as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside.
