logistics/transportation to early breakfast ADR's

Hi, not sure where to post this, but here goes...

Last trip (it was 2008) we stayed at Port Orleans FQ and had an early reservation for breakfast at Boma, which was fabulous. But we had no idea it would be so hard to get there on time. We ended up calling a taxi (this was before Uber) because it was almost impossible to get to AKL that early -- and it seemed annoying and wasteful to add $15 to the cost of our breakfast just to *get* there, but that's what we did.

This time we will be at Carribean Beach. We'll have the QS Dining Plan, but I want to schedule at least a few TS meals. Last time we loved breakfast at Boma, and at Ohana, and thought about trying 1900 PF this time. Any advice on the best way to get to early breakfast ADR's on time at any of those locations from Carribean Beach? We've never stayed there or had to navigate to other parts of WDW from there.

If I can score a breakfast ADR for BOG, does it have to be after MK opens? Or can we get from CBR to MK on time for an early ADR using resort transportation?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom or advice you can offer.

I'm going to follow this... we are at POP and have an 8:10am BOG ADR on a 9am opening day. Unfortunately there are 7 of us, so we would need 2 Minnie Vans, and one is in a car seat so I don't trust a random Uber to provide that. I am reaaallllyyy hoping we can use a bus to get there!

To get to an early resort breakfast at most resorts, your best bet from CBR will be Uber or Minnie Van. To get to one of the monorail loop resorts, taking an early bus to MK and then the monorail will often work, or sometimes the driver will drop you on your way back. Should work for both 'Ohana and 1900PF.

In theory, and it's a stretchy one, you should be able to bus to AK, then bus to AKL for Boma. But in practice, you'll want to Uber.

For a PPO in-park, buses should be running at 6:30AM.

Sorry to thread-jack, but I had a similar question because we have a 745 Ohana reservation coming from CBR. So bus to MK, monorail to Poly? What time should we leave for that?

Having experienced a situation where we were assured transportation from the Contemporary to Epcot would be there for an 8am arrival at Epcot, and it wasn't (They said there would be a bus, no bus. Said to take the monorail instead, monorail not running. Chance meeting with manager of Contemporary, who made a call. Monorail starts running to TTS. TTS has no monorails running to Epcot yet. Spoke to monorail transportation manager, who arranged for an immediate dispatch. Arrived at Epcot at 8:20am), I would strongly suggest uber or a minnie van to avoid the stress.

I would highly suggest taking a cab/uber/lyft or Minnie Van to Poly. The buses start picking up at the resorts at 6:30 am. Even if the bus is on time, you will be hard pressed to get from CBR to Poly in 45 minutes using Disney transportation.

I use uber, honestly it just takes the stress out of it. And it's really not that much $$. If you're already spending that much on the meal, isn't the $10 uber ride worth it? especially considering the time and effort it would take to get there via Disney transport.

We were not able to take the bus to any PPO reservations on our last trip, although the buses should have been running early enough for us to make it, they didn't and we ended up using uber each time. We loved the convenience of uber and ended up using to get to and from parks a few times too.

Honestly, if you're not dining at the resort you're staying at and wanting to rely on Disney transportation to get to the resort, I wouldn't book such an early morning breakfast. I'd leave 1.5 hours for transportation to a park, then transportation to the other resort/hotel. But, I would fork over the $10-25 to get an Uber, Lyft, or Minnie Van if I wanted to sleep in more.

The last time I ate at a resort that I didn't stay at was the Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk for the Rapunzel breakfast. I didn't schedule the breakfast until 9:30 a.m. and that was for check-out day. We got up with enough time to drop some luggage off with the airport transfer thingy, the rest of the luggage had to be held by Bell Services at the Contemporary, took the bus to Hollywood Studios, took the boat to the Boardwalk and went to breakfast. We actually got off at Swan & Dolphin and I (one in the party of three) ran over there because we were held up with the luggage to the airport issue (don't use hyphenated names!). I didn't end up needing to run, even though I got there right at 9:30 because the line was so long to check in.

Thanks for the responses. We haven't been to WDW for 10 years, and don't know when we'll be back, so I hate to cut into park time with a late breakfast ADR -- especially since transportation takes so long to get from point A to point B. We shouldn't need the Minnie Van since it's two adults no kids, so if I'm understanding correctly, if I want an early ADR at a resort, plan on Uber. If I can score an early ADR at BOG or any other in park restaurant (like Akerhaus, for example), we should be able to get there by bus. Do I have that right?

Yes, if it's an early adr in a park it's pretty easy to get there by bus, they start running early. If it's at a different resort it's a much longer process and easier just to uber.

Last week we had early ADR's for Be Our Guest and Akershus, both being before park opening and bus transportation took us and we made it there in more than enough time. It can happen :)

If you're going to a park it's pretty reliable, if you're going to another resort it's a lot longer process.

Yes,"around" 6:30 AM for Magic Kingdom first bus(I have seen MK first bus come as early as 6:11 AM).:)

The other 3 Parks usually have their first bus a little while after MK first bus.

Here is MK first bus time for one day during our stay last month at Pop Century.:)

Just for accuracy sake, it's an hour and 15 minutes.

What great, helpful photos! Thanks for sharing. Is there another way to see the times when staying on site or do you have to walk down to the bus stop to view?
