We will be at WDW for eight nights the first week of December.
I've got a wacky idea that in one night we should be able to see the Osborne Family Lights at D-MGM, eat dinner at Flying Fish (one of DW's faves), and then head to Epcot to take in IllumiNations.

My question is: should we eat dinner prior to going to Disney-MGM, or will the Osborne Family Lights be on early enough we could go there first?
(Obviously IllumiNations will be last.)
I'd like to make my ADR's for Flying Fish soon (our 180 + 10 window starts 6/4/06), and I'm puzzling over what time to try for.

Also keep in mind, DD, who will be a week short of 4 y.o. will be with us, so we can't eat terribly late.

Comments or ideas?

Hmm..I would venture to say that in that order that you stated above...it may be too much. What if you ate an early dinner, then caught the lights, and then Illuminations?

I think in order of travel it makes the most sense to do mgm, dinner epcot
I would check what time they turn lights on at mgm around 6 i think
it is about a 20-30 minute walk to flying fish so dinner around 7 be done around 8 even 8:30 gives you enough time to walk into epcot for 9pm illuminations. it is only a 10 minute walk and it is usally less crowded back by
international gateway so it will be easier to find a place to sit or stand. i think it will be a tight fit but if you don't mind walking fast and standing to see show it will be fun. I would just definately suggest walking, the boats take forever.

Osborne Lights are at 6pm. But it can take a while to see them, depending on crowds and if it's your first time.

Still, an ADR for 7pm should allow enough time for Osborne Lights. (If you're rushed, there is a boat that runs from MGM to Boardwalk.)

And Illuminations is at 9:30 that time of year, so you should be OK.

What will help is that Illuminations is at 9:30 during December.

Eating at FF will be a 1.5-2 hour event.

If the lights are turned on at 6, you probably would be fine seeing the lights first. If the lights get turned on at 7, you would probably have to eat first.

I would have an early dinner (around 4 or 4:30pm), then do the lights (since it will get dark around 5:30 in winter) and then go to Illuminations.
