Logistics Question for Disney After Hours Attendees

I have a question about the logistics of the Disney After Hours Tickets. My husband and I are not AP holders but our friends in Orlando are. We want to take advantage of being able to get into the park at 7pm with the DAH ticket (we have no other park visits planned for this trip), but our friends (the AP holders) aren’t able to meet us there until closer to 10pm. I know that the AP holder has to be present when picking up our 4 discounted DAH tickets. Does the AP holder have to be present when my husband and I enter the park? ie: Could our AP holder friends buy the DAH tickets ahead of time, give ours to us earlier in the week, and then can my husband and I (not AP holders) use the DAH tickets to get into the park at 7pm without the AP holders present?

If you don’t know the answer to this exact question, but have attended a DAH event, can you give me some info about the ticket itself? If it’s not attached to an existing ticket or AP, do they issue you a special card? Or is your DAH lanyard with the event date printed on it your actual ticket? Just trying to figure out if each ticket is unique and therefore possibly associated with the AP and we could be flagged and asked for AP holder verification, or if they’re just like “yep, you have a DAH ticket for today’s date and it’s after 7, go on through.”

Thanks!

My understanding is, the AP holder has to pick the tickets up and that's it for the verification.

The actual ticket is on a piece of RFID media like any other ticket. You go through a special event entrance at MK - there's CMs with signs outside a specific set of touchpoints. Once they read your ticket, they give you a credential on a lanyard to wear.

Yes that was our experience. I picked up the tickets at will call days in advance (with my AP to get the discount) and they gave me rfid tickets. We did not link them to our MDE account and used them to enter (not our magic bands) before 10 at the designated entry point. We were given the lanyards at that point.

Looks like your friends can pick them up and you can get in without their presence. Also, lots of reports that you can get in prior to 7 on those tickets, possibly as early as 4, much like the holiday parties.

I went in April and used my AP yes they do need to see your AP card and ID ( I got my ticket at HS GR)
since I did RD that morning I went to my hotel to rest I got back to the park around 6:30 and got in using my Disney After Dark ticket ( I have also heard you can get in as earlier as 4 ( if they are not there walk over to the contrary and look around for an hour then go back. I would have your friend go and buy the tickets even a few days early they need to do this at disney sos they know they have an AP( they will need to show them) then they can link the tickets to your account and you just go in The only problem that might come up is that if they get 4 discounted tickets they may want to see 4 AP witch in this case you will have to pay full price for.

you can do a lot at these party every thing is a walk on or maybe 5 minute wait they make things as easy as they can for you to get in like 7DMT they use the FP line so you are not walking in the long SB line. if you get there early and have a good plane you should be able to do every thing at lest 1 time ( or very close to every thing)

The email sent to passholders says that each passholder can purchase 4 tickets so only one AP should be needed for the 4.

I bought 2 and only showed 1 AP (my husband has one but wasn't with me when I picked up the tickets at will call)

Good to know I did not read the whole email I was at GR about 5 minutes after the email was sent and the GR CM had no clue about the discount and it was not even in the computer yet when I got my ticket for myself only

This is what the fine print on my email says:

Limit four tickets per Passholder per transaction. Attractions, entertainment and experiences are subject to change without notice. A valid Annual Pass must be shown at the time of ticket pick-up.

Guys, you're the best! Thanks for all of this great info.

To clarify, was this just for pickup, or also upon MK entry? And you were able to buy the DAH tickets at a park other than MK? Good to know!
