Greetings, all :)

DH & I have an ADR at 1900 PF at 8:00 p.m. We're traveling with friends, staying at a timeshare off site, have several cars -- too many cars, actually.

The day of our PF meal, DH & I are going to break from our friends for the day and do Epcot while the friends do DTD and BBB to get the kids dressed up for dinner.

How would y'all do this? Should DH & I do Epcot early, leave WDW completely mid-afternoon, head back to the timeshare and everyone ride together back to the GF for dinner?

Should DH & I come a little late to Epcot and just plan on taking the monorail from Epcot over to the GF, say, around 6:30 or 7:00? (We love to check out the resorts and gift shops.)

Should we just take our car from the Epcot parking lot and drive over to GF?

Just as a little background, we're not commando at all. The major reason we go to Epcot is to drink and eat (lightly, obviously, since we're doing a buffet that night) around the world. We want to see the new Nemo ride, do TT and some shopping. We've been to Epcot hundreds of times -- it's not a situation where we need to see and do everything; just our favorites :)

Also, the day we're talking about is in nine days. We won't be going in the crazy hot months. We *should* be presentable for a nice dinner right after a park if we opt to head straight to dinner from a park.

WWYD?

Sorry if I put this on the wrong board. I couldn't decide if this was a transportation, dining or strategy question. Ultimately, we need to end up at a certain WDW restaurant, so I put it here :)

Go to Epcot a little later, then do the monorail to GF. Let Disney do the driving, epecially if you are planning on drinks in the park.

Of course, you'll have to consider how you'll get home after your dinner.

since you want to do test track, i'd definitely go early, since the line for that ride is usually long and ridiculous. i personally haven't ridden the new nemo ride, but it is fairly new so i assume there would be some lines for that as well. so i'd go early and take care of the rides in the AM, then do world showcase, eat, drink, and be merry :). for me, i would rather avoid the frustration and take the monorail instead of driving all the way back off-site and then drive back on-site to dinner; however, epcot usually closes at 9, so it might be difficult to go back and get your car. so here's what i would do.
1. park at magic kingdom instead of epcot(magic kingdom is open until midnight, so no problem getting your car. this will also come into play later)
2. since the magic kingdom parking is right at the transportation and ticket center, you can hop on the epcot monorail right to epcot.
3. do whatever you want as long as you want at epcot, and then just take the monorail right back to the transportation and ticket center.
4. now, if you really want to, you could go back to your timeshare, but that would be a lot of time wasted. so now what i would do is switch to the RESORT monorail, and you can visit each like you mentioned you'd like to do. the order of the stops on the resort monorail from the TTC is:
1. polynesian
2. grand floridian
3. magic kingdom
4. contemporary
5. transportation/ticket center

while you're in the area, i'd recommend staying at the grand floridian at the beach after dinner to watch wishes...if you're not gonna see it any other night, you might as well watch while you're there. then all you have to do is hop on the monorail to the transportation and ticket center, and get your car! much easier than going all the way back to epcot.
i hope i didnt make that too confusing!

Brilliant! Thank you :)

I know just what you're talking about re parking at MK and just taking the Epcot monorail.

We'll need to figure out what time Wishes is on 5/1. We're hitting MK on Monday, the day before our PF/Epcot day, so hopefully we can find out then. It's getting dark later and later now here in FL, so I'm thinking around 9 or 9:30?

Yeah, even though our normal routine is to hit a park for a few hours, then head back to our accommodations for a bit, it seems a bit redundant for this day.

We might need to scrap some rides. DH & I just can't do a park commando. Five hours is the most we can usually handle at one time, and considering our ADR is a bit on the late side, we might just have to plan on the WS at Epcot. We average one trip a month to WDW, so hitting everything isn't a necessity on every trip.

Thank you both so very much. :grouphug:
