Logan airport Disers, have you flown Delta, specifically MD88 lately?

We're booked in March to fly the aircraft MD88. Is this similar to Song and will they have the tv's in them? We flew in June last, and we were still on a Song plane. Just wondering, thanks. And any new changes about the whole check in process since June would be great.

Howdy neighbor!!! I'm flying on a Delta MD88 in 4 short weeks (but who's counting?) and I will report back then. But I don't think they're anything like the Song planes. They are 2x3 seating, with a full First Class section, and I don't believe we get the TVs anymore.

DS is bringing his portable DVD player for the trip, since the flight time has been bumped up to over 3 and a half hours (BOS to RSW).

I'll let you know for sure when we get back.

The MD88 is a very different from the old Song airplanes. They do not have the in-flight entertainment system. Also, no meal service so either eat first or bring a sandwich with you.

This aircraft has the engines on the tail so the further forward you are the quieter the flight.

I concur with the above. I fly from Pittsburgh to Destin Florida (via Atlanta) frequently and most times it's an MD-88 with Delta.

thanks everyone and hey Deb ! Not so great news, but I do have a DVD recorder I might bring, great idea. Darn, I thought Delta was adding these tv's to all their aircraft after doing away with Song?
