Loews Gold Suite Upgrade @ HRH

We stayed at the RPH back in August for 4 nights with an APH rate. Yesterday I received a Loews First Gold upgrade card in the mail. I'm not sure why we received the Gold card since our stay was at an APH rate.

We have already booked a return for the first week in Jan for 4 nights at the HRH. Again, we're using an APH rate. Perhaps our 1 night deposit was counted towards the Gold upgrade.

Anyway, will we be able to take advantage of the $35 suite upgrade? I realize that our stay may not count towards Platinum, but the $35 upgrade is something to conisder.

Now on the actual upgrade... Would this be a Deluxe room or a Kids Suite? The Deluxe Rooms are nice I'm sure, but don't look like enough of a difference for us to care either way. However, the Kids Suite would allow Mom & Dad some alone time during the 4 night getaway. :cool1: I know, Mom shouldn't be punished while on vacation, but... :)

Thanks for your feedback.

The APH rate isnt a qualifying rate for loews first benefits. Meaning you wont get the welcome gift or a upgrade. Do you have AAA? That discount does count and the AAA/APH rate is usually the same.

If you could get a gold card upgrade it would be to a King Suite.

If you get the suite upgrade ($35 extra, musts wait until check in) then it would be a king suite. The standard gold card upgrade (can book when making reservation) is to a deluxe room. It is larger than the standard room so still a nice perk.

you would have to use a qualifying rate stay (AAA). The AAA rate is sometimes cheaper than the APH rate.
