Loews Gold Member..??

Hi... i am getting ready to make a ressie at RPR and today got a gold card....what does that mean...it says up grade...when I book do I tell them I am a gold member...and they book the room that way or just at check in they give it...does gold always receive an uprade??? If I book pool veiw what would that mean for me... also is it better to call and book through the Loews number or 800-be-a-star........... thanks.amy

Congratulations on being Loews "Gold". You should go to the Loewshotels.com website and check out the perks associated with being Gold. I just recently booked a Deluxe Room at Portofino Bay for February and was given a deluxe room at the garden view rate. I was automatically upgraded to the deluxe room. I was also able to apply the AAA discount to this room. I believe you only get the perks associated with being a Loews First member if you book at rack rates or a AAA rate.

A lot of the upgrades depend on what is available. I was gold and according to brochure, supposedly "automatically upgraded to suite" which didn't work because none was available. I had also been told in a previous phone call to Loew's and RPR that the suite would only be an "executive suite which sleeps 3" (we had 4 of us-2 ad/2kids) We reserved Club level, but didn't even get upgraded to a better view. I am now (or should be) Platinum level after last stay but I don't even know if that will change things.

I am still alittle confused....do they give you an upgrade at the time you book or when you check into the resort...is it better to call and book through loews or doesn't it matter how you book...thanks...and if I book RPR pool...what is the next upgrade..would it be club...thanks...amy

Usually upgrades are given at check-in depending on what is available. I don't think the upgrade from standard room/poolview would be to club level. You might, however, be offered club level for an added fee at check-in. Booking through Loew's or directly through RPR is best. If you want your stay to count towards the next Loew's level, you need to use either the rack rate listed on Loew's website or AAA. None of the other discounts (AP, FAN, etc)
are counted. And depending on whom you talk to, sometimes with the other rates, you don't get the perks like cookies/milk, or wine/cheese, etc. as a welcome gift.........sometimes you do.

For platuim and gold members upgrades are giving if aviaible at the time of booking. You just ask for a std room and book that then upgrade to a suite! If your gold you will be charged an extra 25$ for that room. You must book AAA or rack rate to get that though. I just got a aaa rate of 191 on a std room at the HRH and then was upgraded to king suite for free! Well not really but you know what i mean. For you it will be 25 extra


***Amy i just went to the sight and they have changed things a bit. You get a suite for 35 only if avail when you arrive. You do however get the next level room free at the time of ressie's upgraded for you.

Gold gets an upgrade to a deluxe room at HRH or PBH and to a pool view at RPR. This is free at the time of your reservation if you book AAA or rack and if there is availability. At check-in you can upgrade to a suite for an additional $35/night. This would be a king suite or kids suite at HRH, an executive/king at RPR, and a portofino suite or kids suite at PBH.

Platinum gets an upgrade to a suite at the time of your reservation for free if available. If no suites are available you can still upgrade to a deluxe or pool view.

Club level usually costs an additonal fee per night to upgrade and has to be done at check-in. Usually $50-$80 depending on your rate.

thanks...so if I call and book today I just book a standard room on the phone and give them my gold number and they will make it a deluxe room is that correct..and do I have to call lowes number to get this or can I call 1-800-be-a-star..thanks..amy
