Hi, wave:
I have booked the Royal Pacific Resort from October 25 to 28 with entertainment rate $99 per night.

I also signed up the Loew's first card.

When we made a reservation a discount rate,
can we get the benefits?(welcome gift ,upgrade room e.t)

If so,
when should we show the Loew's first card ?
or I had to tell the number or something when I booked ?

I 've just signed up so I haven't got the Card yet.
 :Pinkbounc :

Now I know some people had problems getting the gift with the Ent rate but we didn't even have to ask for it. I had out my card and before I could say anything the lady at check in asked what I wanted! The bottle of wine was delivered 5 mins after we entered our room - at HRH we had to phone for it both times. I just wish Housekeeping had been as efficient - we never got turn down service despite politely complaining when we didn't get it first night.

Wendy,
Thank you for response.

This is our first trip for Universal Orland and WDW.
We are really looking forward to !!!!

You live in Scotland, aren't you?
We live in Japan.
I'm very happy to get a kind response from a far country !!

I did'nt have a prob. getting my lowes benefits because of using ent rate. I had three rooms all under my name used one ent card (which they never asked to see) and each room got milk and cookies and newspaper. Now wether I was giving credit for my stays I'll have to wait and see they told me I was given a credit for each room, but others say they did'nt get credit for ent rate.

Thank you for info.

My children are 8yd and 11yd.
They are also looking forward milk and cookes!!

I've heard it takes looong time to receive the card.
I am just anxious in whether a card arrives by our visit.:Pinkbounc

The debate is still ragin about this ...

So far stories are mixed through the forums about receiving and not receiving loews first benefits.

The Official line from Loews is third party arrangements including prices, which include Universal Vacation bookings, fan club and entertainment rates are NOT entitled to Loews First benefits. However saying that, there are several stories confimring and denying this.

Royal Pacific seems to have be the biggest problem with Loews First as some reservations honor the privilege, some are honored only after hounding by the Customer or some are just honored regardless. All cases indicate that it is the person checking you in who makes the final call.

The new staff at the RPR seem to relaying mixed messages to the Guests as the response seems different case by case. I suggest you read the trip reports in the Universal TR forum to see what I am talking about.

I hope it is teething problems with the hotel and the new staff. I wont be able to confirm until I stay in September however I have rang Loews (0800-Loews-12) to confirm that they do not have to honor the First card if the rate is not an advertised Loews rate (nb Universals Vaction rate is not the Loews rate although they are the same).

If they honor your First card with ent. rate, great. If they dont, they are quiet entitled to do so under the membership agreement.

Hope it goes fine for you.

Belle, I did'nt have my card at check in. They did'nt send it before my trip, but the conceirge called and got the number and gave it to the front desk for me. I was staying at PBH.

Thank you everyone.

Just RPR seems to have much teething ploblems.

I will wait for the card to arrive around September.

Then , If I don't get, I will call Loews and try to confirm that.

Thank you again for useful comments!!

I am new to the resorts at Universl, I am confussed. When I call to make ressies through my entertainment book, do I call the resort , loews. or the ent. number to make ressies? I am planning to get loews card. Do they also have a disscount if I can not get ent. rate? thanks...corvair

Covair: it's okay we understand. You should call lowes to make resv. First though go online and call the number to enroll for the lowes first card. That card DOES NOT entitle you to discounts although you rec.v perks with that card. Like an upgrade on your room if avail., a newspaper, a welcome gift of your choice, like milk and cookies, wine, or a fruit basket. The different rates lowes offers guests are, Ent. Rate, Fan Club Rate, AP Rate, AAA Rate, GA, FL Residents rates, these are the ones I know of there maybe be more. The more of these you can qualifiy for well you know the better chance of getting a room discount as there are blocks of rooms for each rate. Entertainment rate being the least exp rate that I know about. Okay when you decide on your hotel call lowes and get your lowes mem # they'll give you one over the phone just write it down so you'll have it at check in you don't need it at resv time and more than likely you won't have it before your trip (i applied in may and i'm still waiting for the card). Then go through your different rates with the phone resv person if you land an entertainment rate just go to www.entertainment.com and buy a book that is local to you any book in any area is accepted. Does these help you some?

partyofsix.. yes, thanks. I always get the ent. book. I was not sure what place to call for ressies. You are saying it is better to just call the loews number and just apply the ent. rate. Is this the best rate? Loews first does not offer discounts just some extra stuff, right? But you are saying it is best to book through the loews number instead of calling the resort direct??? thanks...corvair amy

Amy: Just call the lowes number. I don't believe each resort has access to all the available codes I could be wrong. Lowes 1st just offers extras no discounts that I'm aware of.
