Any one have a suggestion for a good place to stay in the Atlanta area, have a friend going for a concert. Not that familar with Atlanta.

Thanks.

I suppose it depends on what area you are looking at. I have stayed at the Renaissance at the airport a coulple of times and LOVED it (I can also Priceline them and know that I can get a very nice one for very little money).

I have family that live in Atlanta and they have stayed at the Intercontinental in Buckhead - which is amazing as well. A friend just stayed in the newer Hyatt Place at the airport and said it was very cool.

Check the ratings for Atlanta hotels on Tripadvisor.com as well.

Atlanta is huge, and traffic is terrible. It really depends on where the concert is.

Hubby and I ALWAYS stay in Stone Mountain when we go to Atlanta. That's only about 20 minutes out of the way....AND it's a bit cheaper. We stay at the Days Inn and have ALWAYS been happy.

Twelve Centennial Park.

It's downtown, affordable (for Atlanta -- weekend rates start at $149), has INCREDIBLE views, a full-kitchen, balcony off the bedroom, HUGE modern bathroom, flat screen TV's, computer with full Internet access, a restaurant in the hotel, parking, there's also a taxi stand right out the back door of the hotel. It's within a few blocks of the Aquarium, the Coca-Cola museum, and other touristy things.

It's also on the MARTA line -- you can take a MARTA train straight from the airport to the hotel.

I love this hotel.

MARTA is scary as h@ll if never road a subway before. I found MARTA not very user friendly at all. Not enough help if don't know where going.

Yes I need step by step directions on how use MARTA it is not idiot proof. If I get on the subway going to Underground Atlanta it should not say it going to Indian Hills. That scare the h@ll out people that have never ridden a subway before.

The subway could be taking you to the projects for all know.

Yes I am county bumpkin. We barely have a bus system where I live at.
