Lockerbie bomber: compassionate grounds?

It appears that the Lockerbie bomber has been released on "compassionate grounds" by the devolved Scottish parliament. Gordon Brown is not happy. Obama is hopping mad. I am furious. I mean, what compassion did this man show for the hundreds of people he killed?

I don't give a hoot one way or another. The guy is dying. I don't have a huge amount of sympathy for him, but he's on his way out.

I actually know someone whose daughter was in the plane, and he doesn't care, either.
