Location request help

We just booked our honeymoon for Sept 3rd-13th at PORS. I did pay for the king size bed vs the standard room. (Could i have just done this as a room request? It isn't that big of a deal.) Also, what advice do you guys have on room request locations? I am open to all suggestions.

If there is just 2 people on the reservation and you booked a King room then you will probably be in the mansions section which is across the river/bridge from the main lobby and food court. But you can just walk across the bridge or drive around to the food court if you have a car.

King beds are not a room request but a booking category you have to pay for.

For the same amount you could book a preferred room and stay in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort and be right near the food court.

You picked a good resort IMO. It is a beautiful resort and I love the boat to DTD. We have taken that boat several times.

King bed rooms can be located anywhere on property. You could be placed in just about any building except the preferred or the Royal Rooms buildings.

The Preferred rooms are in blue.

The Royal Rooms are in red.

Your room could be in just about any of the green rooms. To see where the king rooms are located in any specific building, click on that building in the map. You will get a room layout drawing showing where each category of room is located. I believe the king beds are shaded lilac according to the legend.

I like the Mansion section, but it's really a matter of personal preference. Magnolia terrace is a bit closer to the main dining and shops building and has a handy bus stop close by.

So that I can get a better idea, what is the walk time from the Magnolia building to the food court? Are we talking 5-10 min walk or more? I'm not overly concerned with walking but more convenience. We could change to preferred section if that's better. Since it is our honeymoon I want to get the most out of the resort.

About 5 minutes (depending on whether your room is closer to the river or the parking lot).
