I'm planning to visit Ft. Wilderness campfire at 7pm on 11/27/13. I was thinking about getting dinner near there before the campfire--are there any restaurants or QS locations in walking distance and convenient to the campfire?

Also what is the best way to get to the campfire from All Star Movies Resort? I was thinking about taking the bus to MK and then the boat launch to the Ft. Wilderness--does that work?
thanks!

1) From Trails End restaurant
. . . walk to bus
. . . take internal bus to campfire
2) From ASM resort
. . . take bus to FW (after 4:00pm should be a single-purpose bus) *
. . . transfer to internal bus to campfire

* If before 4:00pm, take bus to MK, then boat to FW

I didn't realize they had buses running from the all star resorts to Ft. Wilderness directly. That will make things a lot easier!

thanks!

Hold on there.

That's news to me.

I can't imagine that there is that many people going to the Campfire or HDDR that it would require a number of buses from all the resorts going to FW.

You will have to take an internal bus in Fort Wilderness to get to the campfire. Once you get off the boat from MK, walk straight ahead to Trail's End, past the check-in counter there are stairs that go to Trail's To Go. You can order food there to take with you - they have a decent selection and also a great bucket of chicken meal (The Giddyup and Go) that is great for 4. It will take a little while, though, you will get a beeper that will go off when your meal is ready for pickup so plan to get there around 5:30 or so.

Another option is to grab something from Crockett's Tavern - you can get pizza, nachos, couple of things there. If it's not too crowded, you may be able to sit at a table inside there. If it's busy, those tables are used by Trail's End.

Then you can board a bus to the Meadows area for the campfire. You can bring your food with you and eat it there, or just eat at the Settlement, there are tables on the porch at Trail's End. The snack cart at the campfire has basics like hot dogs.

Have fun!

thanks for all the replies. It looks like I should go from ASM to MK and take the boat to FW then take an internal shuttle to the location for the campfire. I think we'll check out the Trails End.

I've never seen a bus at any of the All Star resorts that goes directly to FW. If so, when did they start this?
