My daughter and I are headed to DL on Tuesday and we need military tickets. My husband is National Guard and we don't have a base close by. Is the best option LA Air Force Base? We are flying into LAX and renting a car.

You can go straight to the Ticket Offices at The Disneyland Parks and purchase Military Discounted passes.

You can buy the 3 day military salute tickets at the ticket booth. Any other military tickets would require you to buy from a base. LA AFB is the closest. It's also near LAX and not out of the way when heading to DLR, so that would be your best bet if you're looking for anything other than the 3 day salute tickets.

You can get them at the Disneyland ticket booth. Just be sure to have your military ID.

They don't mention it on the website though. It says to contact a base ticket office. They also need to be activated at Disneyland by showing a military or military spouse ID along with the ID of all adults using the tickets. Once they're activated, they can be used any time and on different dates. I suppose they're trying to keep people from reselling them.

This says you can purchase military tickets at Disneyland. It also says the closest military ticket office that will handle this is Camp Pendleton.

My stepmom gets them at the ticket booth all the time. Getting them ahead at a base may work better for OP just because they won't have to wait in an additional line on park day, but it is possibly more convenient than finding the base in LA.

To add, just like at a base, you don't have to pay tax on the military tickets bought at a Disneyland booth. So no need to worry about that.

There are no state taxes on theme park tickets in California. There's never been a local government admission tax that applied to Disneyland.

ADMISSION CHARGES—Fees charged for the use of amusement parks, theaters, sports events, golf courses, etc., are not subject to sales or use taxes because there is no exchange of tangible personal property.

There was talk about lifting the exemption of a city "gate tax" on Disneyland, but the exemption was extended for 30 years, provided that Disney spend a certain amount of money on expansion and parking lots. I think it's pretty obvious that this became the Star Wars Land announcement.

Just to add, I was only trying to get across that the prices wouldn't be affected by taxes in the first place, and the savings are all from discounts provided by Disney.

I don't know why the price was different, but I paid 143.00 at the DL booth and 140.50 from the MWR. (I purchased 1 ticket at the DL booth and the others from MWR).

I live on the east coast and my nearest MWR did not have the DL tickets in stock, but they verified my ID card (in person) and sent my info to another MWR. The other MWR called me to get my CC info and then emailed me the tickets. It worked very well. So, you might check with your nearest MWR to see if they have a similar arrangement.

The only glitch I had was the vouchers could only be converted to tickets at the gate. We were staying at a Disney property and it took a few minutes to get the tickets issued on our early entry day.
