So, when exactly can I get lobster? It is my favorite food and my two kids are looking forward to getting one of their own as well. lol.

It is on semi-formal night on 7 night cruises. We have found that it is not really good. It is warm water lobster and not tender like Maine lobster.

I agree. I ordered it the first cruise and hasn't since. I found it very tough and lacking flavor.

Depends in the season. The warm water lobster season here in Fl runs from August to march 31. After that they have to get it some where else.

I think they are talking about the difference between the caribbean lobster (clawless) and the north american lobster (has claws). The two have a very different taste.

Exactly. My die-hard "must have lobster" husband really doesn't care for the lobster on the ships. As noted they aren't Maine lobster (usually rock lobster) and they aren't steamed, but baked (much drier).

As noted, it's only on those cruises that have the Captain's Gala menu (7 night and longer, I believe).

Yeah the one place I'm not spending a small fortune to eat all I want and I won't touch the stuff!!!

I'm used to the Cape Cod style... That IS NOT the kind they serve on board!!!

Do you know if they give you the melted butter with it? suppose I can ask for it too

We always like the lobster -- and I'm from New England. It has a different taste, but we never found it tough. I always get two, but ask for the second one without all the sides, so they put them both on one plate. MMMMMM, now I want lobster.

Can someone please tell me if lobster is served on the Alaskan cruise?

Thanks so much dclpluto. Do you know which night it will be served? We don't want to book Palo that night.
