Lobster Rolls

Where did you have them at DLR? I tried the one at Harbor Galley last October and it was mostly filler with the meat from one claw on top.

You may have had grumpy as your chef that day. I've had them from Harbor Galley in July, October, and December of last year and they were good.

Maybe it also has to do with crowds. When I went, it was pretty busy so they looked like they were churning things out as fast as they could. Still, it's too bad that the quality can vary so much between sandwiches.

While the best lobster rolls I have ever had in my life came from The Raw bar in Mashpee, MA. They know lobster rolls! We had several from The Boardwalk Bakery (around $18/each) which were very good and a few from Columbia Harbor House which were good (not a ton of it, but a good lunch portion) and certainly were real lobster. We did not have high expectations but were pleasantly surprised and p.s. the Scallop/lobster (or crab?) roll at Hurricane Hannah's/YC and BC was really liked by our brood, if you are looking for something similar outside the parks.

My favorite is the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport Maine. To die for!!

Is that the place with about 1000 people in line in front of it lol? We go to Bob's Clam Hut in Kittery Maine. Howdy neighbor...we live just over the border from your town.
I did ask the staff at CHH whether the lobster was from New England and they told me that it definitely wasn't so not sure where it's from. Have tried lobster from areas other than New England and I am not a fan, so I won't be trying CHH's version. May try the Board Walk's lobster roll on our next trip though...sounds promising.

I've had the lobster roll at Columbia, it was "real" lobster, but just ok. After reading this thread, I am definitely going to try the one at Boardwalk Bakery this trip (12 more days!)

thanks for the reviews

Based on the pictures and the comments about mayo, it seems to be more like the lobster salad sandwich I get at the Lobster House in Cape May, NJ ( which I love btw) than the lobster rolls I have gotten in Maine. Next time we go to WDW may have to check it out.

I tried the lobster roll at CHH and thought it was terrible. Being from Maine it was a far cry from the lobster rolls I'm used to up here . Too much dressing, and celery or relish or something in there that shouldn't be :rotfl:

We are going to the Food & Wine Festival in September and I'm so hoping that Linda Bean's will be there with lobster rolls like they have been in years past from what I've read. Should be more to my liking since she's a Maine girl!

I am NOT from anywhere with good seafood but I really like the CHH Lobster Roll. I also like the one they usually have at Food and Wine, the little one. I'm not sure it's authentic but it's pretty tasty and a good value, and a nice change from burgers.

I do like the lobster roll at the Hops and Barley Market at the Food & Wine Festival ($7.50 a pop last year) but I'll have to try the one at the Boardwalk Bakery when we're there in September.

Go to the boardwalk. My husband loves seafood and my family lives near the Atlantic coast in the south where you buy awesome shrimp from a guy's pickup truck on the side of the road! My husband HATES mayo and loves the lobster roll from the boardwalk bakery. I don't know if they put anything in it but it was pretty much just lobster and some lettuce on the roll.

I was shocked at the huge pieces of lobster on it. I got myself one and when I got back to our room I'm pretty sure my husband wanted me to go back and get him one!!

I tried the lobster rolls at both CHH and Boardwalk Bakery on our trip last month. The one at CHH was very disappointing. The overwhelming flavor was celery and mayo. The one at Boardwalk was much better. There wasn't nearly as much filler and had larger chunks of lobster. I enjoyed it, but not nearly as much as lobster rolls I've gotten on Cape Cod.

I saw the guest review on DisneyFoodBlog as well and was trying to figure out how we could have both had the same sandwich only two months apart and have such different experiences. Their's did look like it had a lot of lobster meat, whereas the one I had did not (and I looked). Maybe it's a matter of whether you get one early in the batch or later.

I ordered it 3 weeks ago and 4 months ago. It was better four months ago. Last time it was disgusting meat and the roll wasn't even toasted.

I have had it twice. It was a good amount of real lobster. I'm amazed at times how harshly it's judged here. Now was it New England quality, no, but this is a Disney QS. It was good. :)

I'd say this is a very poor imitation. I do think its real lobster but not very good lobster, not much of it and way too much mayo. Coming from New England, I wouldn't ever get it again. But if you are not from a "Lobster" region, you may like it. It isn't bad, just not what I can get at home.

I'm from Maine and have never had the lobster roll from CHH. But our lobster Rolls don't have that much mayo. Some have none at all and the mayo on the side. I think I'm going to try it this trip. I figure if I don't like it I can grab a tuna sandwhich we always seem to have a few credits left over.

I love Wells! We may be going to Foot Bridge Beach this Saturday. Just so you know...I did ask a CM (when CHH put lobster rolls on the menu) whether the lobster was New England lobster and was told that it wasn't.

Spent our honeymoon (and our 33rd anniversary last year) in wells. Steamers at Billy's chowder house & lobster pie at Maine diner!!

I tried the lobster roll at Columbia House and it was so horrendous that I brought it right back and got a refund  It was disgustingly runny and gross tasting  Certainly not even close to what I am used to up here in New England where we know lobster rolls :rolleyes1
