Lobster Rolls

Spent our honeymoon (and our 33rd anniversary last year) in wells. Steamers at Billy's chowder house & lobster pie at Maine diner!!

When our sons were little, we used to camp at Pinderosa. Ate breakfast at the Maine diner and dinner at Billy's...can only roast so many hotdogs on the campfire lol! Will be in Wells tomorrow and hoping to get some great seafood.

I had a lobster roll at CHH last month for the first time an a looong time. It was OK for the price. A decent amount of lobster meat (real lobster ... the fake stuff is easy enough to spot), but too much mayo for my tastes and pretty bland. Once properly salted and peppered it wasn't bad, but it clearly isn't Boston-quality. Then again ... it's 10 bucks in a theme park counter service restaurant. I'm not expecting miracles :0)

Thank you! The quality of food at WDW is pretty good for what it is, but anyone expecting a prime example of just about any dish is looking for disappointment. Maybe at Victoria & Alberts, or one or two other spots, but if you hail from a place famous for a particular cuisine, stay away from it at WDW.

Since I always loved the mini ones at Food & Wine I was excited about the ones at CHH. Oh .... major disappointment, not only wasn't it the same it was bad. I didn't even finish it. I had actually stopped eating there after that with all the major change to the menu, sad as it was our favorite counter service in MK.

But alas I am excited once more as this week it was reported that the menu has had some changes and the lobster roll is only at lunch - they now have a "Seafood Mac & Cheese with Lobster and Shrimp" and a "Chicken Pot Pie". Now if they just stop serving two almost like salads - bowls full of big raw veggies. I miss the old salad.

Thanks for the info on the updated dinner menu changes at Columbia House :thanks: I can't wait to try the seafood mac and cheese :yay:

I tried the Lobster Roll last summer at Hurricane Hannah's (Stormalong Bay @ Yacht/Beach Club) and it was really ok: nice amount of lobster meat though heavy on the onion, and a good bun. Was it equivalent to the Lobster Roll at Ford's Lobster in Noank, CT? No, dear no! But I'd say for a snack bar at a New England-themed Disney resort, it was a reasonable facsimile. :)

I had the lobster roll at Boardwalk Bakery and it tasted real and fresh. It was also more meat than filler. I was really happy with it.

Does the Boardwalk Bakery ever run out of lobster rolls? Like do I need to be there before noon to order one?

thanks!

No they did not run out when we were just there I had one for dinner once.

If you want a good lobster roll, New England style, get the one at the Boardwalk Bakery!! have been born and raised in Massachusetts, I can say that is an excellent roll. very little mayo and no filler, pure lobster meat.

Another 'yay' for the Boardwalk Bakery lobster roll! Also a GREAT deal if you've got the dining plan (or free dining!) and their other sandwiches and desserts are also amazing!

in that picture of the BWB lobster roll, there is a good inch on both ends of that roll with nothing but lettuce! Maybe its all smooshed in the center.

It was my DH's so I don't exactly remember, but I think it was a decent amount and would smoosh to the edges a bit more when you eat it.

I had the lobster roll and the lobster crab claw thing at Food & Wine last year and ended up throwing them out. The Lobster roll was like playing 'where is the lobster' and the claw was frozen in the center! Yuk!

There's apparently the most AMAZING lobster roll being sold out of one of the food trucks in DTD.

The lobster roll can be found at the World Showcase of Flavors Food Truck at Downtown Disney. But a warning....they're $18.25 a pop. Howevah, they DO come with House Made Chips! LOL!
