Headed to the Yachtsman in 3 weeks, anyone have the lobster there...is it any good? Usually going to a "steakhouse"....ya get steak...but havent had lobster in a while and the wife will get steak and probably not finish:) Let me know! Also on a side note...wanna try the bone marrow...reviews?? TIA!!

Depends on what you're accustomed to. Last time we were there, the wife got the lobster and she thought it was great. I'm a native New Englander and have had more Maine lobster than I can remember. I tried it and thought it was totally average at best. Go to Shula's for lobster, IMO. My filet at YS was outstanding, btw.

I live in Maine (Wife's a native). We just have a lobster feed last weekend. 40 lobster for less that $4.00 a pound. I won't buy lobster at Disney because of the prices, plus fresh off the boat is best.

I'm a transplant from the Mass coast, and have lived in Florida now for over 20 years. Miss the fresh seafood terribly!

I posted a question in early august about whether it is a maine lobster (with claws) or spiny Caribbean lobster at the Yachtsman. Apparently it used to be Maine lobster because everyone on this board said so, but when we went in mid-August it was the spiny Carribbean kind.

Where on the Mass coast? I'm originallly from the Springfield area, but lived in Gloucester for 4 years beforee moving to Maine.

I think you're confused about the Lobster. I just saw a recent picture of it being served at Yachtsman and while it appears to have no claws on the plate 20180828_143823.jpg the claw and knuckle meat has been pulled and is placed in the body of the Lobster.

Give it up for Mass! I grew up on the North Shore in Haverhill and now live in the Berkshires west of Springfield. We have a home in Clearwater Fl and get down there about 4 times a year. This is our first year with APs and have really taken advantage of them.

I grew up in West Springfield, and we used to ride our 10 speeds out through Southwick,Granville, Tolland, etc... to go camping.

Can't comment on the lobster, but I really enjoyed the bone morrow. It was much sweeter than I anticipated but very good!

My lobster at Yachtsman was better than Narcoossee’s (I mention that because most seem to think it is the gold standard for Disney lobster) and definitely Maine. I live in a flyover state so Disney is my chance to eat it every meal! :)

oh they pull the lobster before the serve you? im a wuss i only started eating seafood a few years ago, its always freaked me out, but i love it. so removing lobster from its body FREAKS me out (and i dont really know how). but if they remove it for me and just give me the meat im all over it lol. sometimes servers get confused when i ask though - and ive never asked for more than a tail. but i keep eyeballing the yachtsman one. i know for new englanders i must sound nutty lol. but that photo gave me hope (although having that body would turn my stomach. this is why i stick to buttered lobster rolls lol)

We now live in Florida - we moved from New Hampshire back in October and my son-in-law is a lobster fisherman off the coast of Stonington. Caribbean lobster is tough and chewy in my opinion. Lobster prices are through the roof down here - if you live in New England, eat steak and save the seafood for New England unless it is shrimp which is delicious and affordable.

Right off... DDP? TIW? Or OOP? No point in suggesting that which does not fit your plan :(.

Ahead of time (may not work for you)....

1) BEST Lobster - Shula's (Dolphin). Perfect, and sized for a LINEBACKER. This is not an Australian crayfish. TIW accepted, no DDP.
2) SECOND BEST - Narcoossee's. DDP SORT of accepted (prepare for "enhancements" to get real LOBSTER).

Above all - REAL LOBSTER is serious SHELL FISH. Please? Be prepared to deal with $100 or so per plate. Yes, you can always get it cheaper.... Restaurants "adjust" the price by serving you a "dinner" fit for Oliver.... :).
