Loan our magic band to neighbors?????

Can it be done? Our neighbors have a trip in June, staying off site. We offered to loan them our MBs, so they do not have to purchase. They have their tickets already, and have booked their FP+ ressies. They should be able to link their ticket to each MB.

SO ---- can it be done? I have an annual pass that was linked to my MB. They have done searching and believe it can be done. Just want to be sure before loaning to them.

But wouldn't the serial numbers of your magic bands be linked to your MDE account? Not sure how you would add it to their account.

No, it can't be done. You can't transfer MBs once they are linked to your account. You can deactivate them on your account but you can't remove them.

OK - thanks. I thought that might be the case, and was especially concerned with 1 linked to my annual pass.

The bands are not linked to your pass. They are linked to your MDX account and the pass is also linked to the account. There is no difference between the AP band and any other band, any band linked to the same account will be able to read that you have an annual pass.

You could only trade bands if you could completely remove the band from your MDX and have it linked to your friend's MDX. They have made it possible to deactivate the band once you have it linked to your MDX but not remove it. The same band can't be linked to two different MDX accounts.

I know, I've tried because for some reason I have two MDX accounts.

I do not know whether you can get someone on-site to remove a band from one account and link it to a different account, but you can't do it yourself.

Just wanted to make sure they are aware that they don't "have" to purchase magic bands. They can still get into the park and access FP+ with just their ticket. Staying off site as they are, the Magic Band doesn't offer a lot of benefit except maybe convenience.

What would be the purpose? Their tickets can do everything their magic band will. The bands are linked to your account. It would get complicated and my guess is it would mess things up for you.

The magic band is really not that important for anything. They can make fast pass reservations with their ticket, they can't use it for their hotel, and can't link a credit card to it, so why bother. If they really want one that bad they can buy them and it will be theirs forever.

Do you have to purchase the Magic Bands? Isn't it included in the ticket price? I didn't see an extra choice or price for the Magic Bands when we got our tickets for our upcoming trip.

If you have reservation at a Disney Owned & Operated Resort or are an Annual Passholder, you will receive them for free.

If you have regular MYW tickets and are staying off-site, MagicBands are available for purchase at WDW for $12.95 plus tax. MagicBands are not required in order to use FP+.
