I just bought an Ipod shuffle (thanks to the Budget board!!) and am new to this kind of thing. How do I get the songs that I paid for from Itunes on to my Ipod? The directions say something about new setting and the option button and drag songs to Ipod shuffle on the source list and I am not seeing that anywhere. :confused3 Please help me with step by step instructions. TIA

Do you have your IPOD plugged into your computer?
If so then go and left click on the song that you want and while still holding down the left button "drag" that song to your IPOD listed on the left handside menu where it has your IPOD listed. Hope this was clear.

Oh and just a thought to delete a song off your IPOD, highlight the song in your IPOD selection and either hit delete or backspace. I had the hardest time trying to figure that out when I started. Good luck it takes a bit to get used to everything.

Yes it is plugged in to my computer but I cannot find where my Ipod is listed on the left hand side? It is plugged into my USB 2.0.

I am so clueless!!!!! Why won't my Ipod show up. Is there something I have to do besides plugging it in to the USB?

On your ITUNES screen on the lefthand side(well its always on my lefthand side) has a menu list that includes Library, Itune store, playlist and other things and somewhere in that menu it should say "Tina's IPOD" or whomever. You click and drag your song from the library to "Tina's IPOD" I'm sorry if I'm confusing you even more.

No, you are not confusing me more, the problem is that in that same area you are talking about I have all of that but my Ipod listed. I have no idea why it is not showing up there or how to get my Ipod to show up there.

Thanks Tina, I needed this advice also. I have a shuffle and a 30GB on their way and was wondering how I was going to pick which songs go to which device. I have Itunes already from when I had my mini but I just always downloaded everything from the library. Thanks again!

It seems like the computer is not recognizing that the Ipod is connected. I know someone here should be able to help.

Have you registered your IPOD with Apple and Itunes? Thats the only thing off the top of my head why it wouldn't be reading that your IPOD is plugged in. I'm sorry I'm not much help.

Ya, that's what I am thinking too. I am starting to get a little frustrated and ready to throw it out the window!!!! I hope someone can help me!!! :goodvibes

OH!! Just a thought, this is the refurbished shuffle that you purchased? It may need some tweaking of somesort that they do. I read a few posts on that thread on the budget board that said they had to go to the Apple store for some help on their shuffles.

Yes, my SO did it when he installed the disk onto our computer and it asked for the serial number/name & address. Is this all we have to do to register it? Thanks for all your help.

My iPod doesn't show up sometimes either. Just unplug it and then plug it in again. Sometimes I have to do it quite a few times. Make sure you wait a few minutes for it to try an recognize it. Good luck

Try it in a different USB port if you have one.

What version of Itunes do you have loaded onto your computer? Is it 7.0.2.16? The update before the one mentioned had some bugs in it. The computer would not recognize your ipod. I know when I had the previous version my computer would not recognize my ipod.

Hi Heidi. :wave2: When I first plugged in my IPod it asked me to name it, that is where the name comes up on the left hand side. Same thing for Aerial's. So when I plug mine into the USB now it says Marcie's Ipod and Aerial's says Aerial's Ipod. Did this type of setup happen the first time you plugged it in?

Tina - yes it is the refurbished shuffle.

Marcie - No, it never asked me to name the Ipod when I plugged it in.
