Hi everyone! Our countdown is now down to 3 days.:woohoo: We are pulling our pop-up from Texas. I've decided to shop for some pantry items (cereal, poptarts, etc.) here at home and then make a stop in Florida for the refrigerated stuff/water/sodas. I think I want to avoid shopping anywhere near WDW because of prices and crowds, so I was thinking we may stop somewhere off of 75...maybe Ocala area? Has anyone else done this before? If so, can you recommend a good grocery stop?

I found the Wal-Mart on 535 to be comparable in price to home. I also found it very convenient and easy to shop there. Also the sales tax is cheaper in Florida than ours.

Just wanted to add that Publix is a reliable chain of grocery stores in Florida.

It really is a pleasure to shop there.

Have a great trip! When I'm at my 3 day mark I am going to be sooooo annoying to the people around me. I can't wait!

I like Wal-Mart for dry goods. Publix for meats, produce and seafood. I sometimes hit Kroger sales also.

There is a super target that is just south of 535 on 192 that in my opinion, is much better (and less crowded) than walmart. I always go there because they have a wonderful meat and bakery department and very good prices. They are located behind the AW root beer stand. I stumbled upon them when I stayed at the KOA when we needed an extra night that we couldn't get at the Fort and haven't really used walmart much since.

I agree the target is wonderful, we found it last year, and found that it is worth it to drive the extra few miles there instead of Wal mart.

Another SuperTarget lover here. But I do also like Publix. ST is nice for those non-food items you may have forgotten to pack. Publix has a nice bakery, in case you have a birthday or celebration while you're there, and you can browse their designs on their web site.

We drive from Houston also, Ocala is a great place to stop and there is a Sams club and a Walmart there. The Sams club is close to a campground we stay at off I 75. We stay in Ocala next to Cracker Barrel and leave about 8:30 the next morning and arrive about 10:15-10:30 at Disney..

We also travel from Texas. When taking the Florida Turnpike we exit onto another turnpike and go into Disney the back way near Coronado Springs. Before the Disney exit there is an exit with a Super Target. We always stop here. It is a very easy on and off. I think the exit is Wintergarten. Maybe someone here knows the name of the turnpike and the exit name.

Have fun!

Thanks, Shelley! we go that way also and have always wondered if that was a Super Target. I believe this is 429 and yes Wntergarten sounds right too.

Have a fun trip!

PUBLIX, PUBLIX, PUBLIX!!!

Best grocery store EVER!

Their bakery is very good, don't get the bakery chocolate chip cookies or else they will be gone in one day :)

You could stop in Gainesville off of I-75 (about 1.5 hours from Orlando).

The exit, I believe it is 382, you will see a sign that says something like "Gainesville next 4 exits" and it will be the last or 2nd to last exit. The road is called Williston road, the exit sign will say this. It is at the intersection of Williston and 34th street, which is right off of the interstate.

I was going to put 429 but just was not sure. Thanks Mary Anne!

We always replenish our fruit and veggie supply and buy premade sandwiches to eat after setting up. One time we had to buy a pillow too!

Whenever we go I'm going to try and do all of my grocery shopping here no way am I going to pay 1.69 for a small can of soup again.
