LLBean BackPacks - Is the turbo the biggest one available?

I know this is most likely asked every year but here goes. DD is entering High School and for the first time needs a big school bag. We have decided on the the LLBean Turbo Transit Pack. It looks like the biggest we can buy in a SINGLE color (black). Is there one that is bigger? She will need to carry most of her things around all day with traveling between multiple buildings.


I will link thru ebates and use one of my reward credit cards but do these things every go on sale around this time of year? Between our vacation in August and School starts August 22nd, I need to order soon.

Their website says that the Turbo Transit Pack is indeed their biggest backpack.

I think you need to have her look at the style/functionality of the choices though. The Turbo has a bottom section for shoes that will eat up a portion of the space and not be that convenient to use for anything other than shoes. It also doesn't have water bottle pouches on the side.

Have her look at the Super Deluxe Book Pack (nearly the same size as the Turbo) and the Quad Pack (just a bit smaller than the Turbo).

I don't think you will have any luck with a sale, however, you should register for their emails and you could possibly get a promo code.

My son has the black Turbo you are mentioning and boy does he stuff that thing. It does hold a lot but he still has trouble zipping it sometimes, he likes to bring absolutely everything with him everywhere he goes.

Yes, the site says it is their biggest and it is physically the biggest but I did a comparison and the Turbo capacity says Medium (21 to 30 Liters) while the Deluxe book pack says Large (31 to 60 Liters). We usually go up to the LL Bean store in Maine once a year and check out their backpacks while there, it sometimes helps to see/touch them to decide. We have been able to stumble across some decent sales but it is usually Labor Day weekend which would be too late for you.

That turbo backpack is amazing. I used it through high school, college/nursing school, and am still rocking it. (I just did the math on that, yikes ! )

The Turbo is Super Big. My dd has been carrying it for 2 years.

We did manage to get it on a 1 day flash sale (2 years ago) but it was selected prints. Not a solid color.

Thanks you for the replies. DD decided to go with the turbo. She wants black so that she can decorate it herself. She will need to carry everything from classwork, gyn class, cello supplies, lunch etc.

My DS ended up going between two bags at school. He picked a LL bean messenger bag which hung in his locker for certain hours. Then he had a backpack for the rest of the day. He is super organized though. He told me he only messed up once with balancing what homework books/papers needed to come home.
