LL Premier Pass is here!

I'm wondering if it was a total coincidence that Disney announced this the day before Universal announced the opening of EU.

Might have been mentioned already but another reason I can see people buying this is for those who don't like the idea of having to zig zag back and fourth throughout MK all day with Multipass return times. They can essentially do a loop around the park and save their feet.

That's the point. These systems are not made for everyone to have.

Zero chance they would get rid of LLMP or something similar. It's their way of maintaining the Fast Pass system to a point which introduced in '99. Obviously originally free.

By going tiered they can give something for anyone that wants to really take advantage of "skipping the lines"

LLSP and LLMP can be purchased by anyone in any resort class or even not staying on the parks..

the LLPP is for ONLY those staying in Deluxe or Deluxe Villas.

So that requirement alone separates it from who can purchase it since only certain hotel stays can be eligible.

This reminds me of the old joke:

Princeton has two rivals: Harvard and Yale.
Yale has one rival: Harvard.
...
Harvard doesn't have any rivals.

That said, I did see a UO family of three at Cedar Point's Halloweekends last Friday; Dad was wearing a Dark Universe shirt, and the son was wearing an Epic Universe one.

Yeah, I just meant you could buy LLMP, the 2 LLSP, and the LLPP per day if you wanted to but I think that would be overkill.
Why do you think you could buy both LLPP and LLMP? I could understand LLPP and LLSP, but wouldn't there be a weird conflict if you had both LLMP and LLPP? (I guess you could just program it to pull the LLMP if you are within the time window and it is available, otherwise to pull the LLPP for that ride?)

My POV (or at least what I think it should be): You can get LLMP or LLPP, not both. The rest would operate like it does now.

I can see how that could be the talking narrative but $100 vs $1600 and the ONLY diff is using your phone to click another available pass after you use one (ignoring UPDATE potential) isn't worth $1500 to me and not sure how anyone else? Obviously, Disney has done their research but it won't be me.

The sticker for me is park hopping.

We have APs. We often ride a few attractions (say FOP, EE and KS in AK) and then hop to another park to ride attractions there. If we did that with this new pass, we'd have to buy it for AK and the second park. It's expensive for one park and even more so for multiple parks in one day.

I bet the offer a multi-park version at some point. The question is: How expensive will it be?

I also wonder if they will have AP/DVC discounts. I received an email from DVC yesterday about a new program they are offering that includes Memory Maker and discounts on tickets among other perks. I'd be much more interested in purchasing the new Premier Pass if I got a discount.
I wish they had a hopper option as well.
It is very different, especially if you normally travel with people who don't want to spend more time planning their vacation than enjoying it. *If you have the money* I think it's a no-brainer at MK and maybe HS if you add an LLMP for Epcot in the evening (we'll see if that's possible).

Is it crazy expensive ... yes. Is it a substantially better product than LLMP/LLSP ... yes. You might not find value in it, but some definitely will.

I just wish it came with a multi-park option because there isn't a full day's worth of entertainment at Epcot or HS, and it's definitely not worthwhile at AK until the reimagining is done.
This exactly. I'd get a couple days of it for upcoming trip if it offered a multi park option
It takes very little time to book LLMPs and LLSPs at the 7-day mark. OK, so you have to plan in advance what rides you want so you'll be ready to book at 7 a.m. 7 days in advance, but, overall, we're not talking about a heckuva lot of time planning. And not very much time booking, either.

If you've never been to WDW before, you have to plan anyway, since you wouldn't even know what rides you definitely wanted to do and which you definitely wanted to avoid (for whatever reason).
Here is the thing though. While the initial purchase at the 7 day mark might not take much time, if you are going during a busy time, like Thanksgiving or Christmas break, it looks like it could be hard to get any additional rides after your prebooked ones. Especially if you have a larger group like we do, and dont want to rope drop. This year we have 2 teenagers, and 2 tweens in our party. They have all fully (finally) embraced sleeping in lol. I don't want to drag all of us out of bed at 6 am every day of our trip to rope drop and get that early 1st scan to start booking more rides. The plan when we booked this trip last year, for Thanksgiving week, was to do G+ and stack rides and show up around 10-11 am and stay late rather than get up early. With the way it is now, by the time we would scan in to our first ride, there likely wouldn't be much left. With this, we can show up when we get there and take our time and still do all the rides we want to do. I don't mind the time planning at all. I've done it several times. But I will be frustrated if I pay $35 per person (or more) and only get 3 rides because they are all gone by the time I can book another one.

What I'd want to do since we have hoppers is buy this maybe for one park and LLMP for another on the same day since there isn't a multipark option here.

It would allow riding some attractions twice -- once with LLPP/SP and once with LLPP. Also park-hopping.

Well since so many people here actually seem to love this idea, why wouldn’t Disney just drop the cheaper version and make the Premier pass the only one you can buy? Once the scales of profitability tip in favor of the more expensive version there is no looking back. Fewer people buy it but it makes them more money. That’s been there entire model for years, but they still can’t price people out fast enough. You tip the scales to premier for really fast entry or you are in standby. If this does well, why wouldn’t they go with that?
You are completely right and I'm not sure why people are allergic to admitting it. Ride access is Disney's most limited resource. Especially for for $400 vs $40 even if they don't completely eliminate the cheaper option it could become as good as nonexistent as they sell out the spots to those willing to pay more. They aren't going to be saving spots for the $40 folks out of the goodness of their heart. Which market blah blah, capitalism blah blah... but it really does become a case of don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. Either it's not that great of a product for most and there won't actually be much demand or it is a great product and they will cut back on cheaper options.

This is the kind of stuff that makes the Universal Epic park opening so appealing to me. WDW is already a headache to plan. 60 days for this. 180 days for that. 7 days for these. Ugh. Just give me a trip I can come to, show up and have a good time without feeling I'm in the lower class. Yeah, I know USO has their pass. But it's so pricey hardly anyone uses it. I get in line there and a handful of people will fastness it. It hardly detracts. But Disney...you KNOW it attracts that kind of customer all the time. If I don't shell out money for the formerly free FP, I get maybe 8 rides during a day. Thus my hyper-inflated ticket price gives me far less than what it used to. Ugh. Disney has become the villain of the story.
