LL Premier Pass is here!

Been thinking about this, and I might actually purchase this if I’m traveling with elderly loved ones or young kids.

No need to pre-plan when we need to be at each ride. No need to whisper-scream at anyone to walk faster. Don’t have to wake people up on vacation if they’re sleeping in or napping. Don’t need to figure out the location of each ride to minimize criss crossing the park. Don’t have to find strangers to share a VIP tour with in order to make it less expensive for a smaller group. And also don’t have to spend 10 hours with a stranger dressed in plaid.

Just go to the park, and go on whatever ride we feel like trying. Only limitation is the lack of re-rides. But as someone that has issues with the 1 hour return window, this sounds good. Yes it’s expensive but I think I’d pay it for my parents or in-laws.

Maybe I am confused. Why would anyone actually need this? The normal pay system works and I end up riding everything through the day with it. Maybe a majority of people don't know how to use it?

Does it even include ILL? Which I wouldn't care if it did cause I still wouldn't buy it
Well, with no time slots, you could sleep in, get to park at 11 am, hit every ride, and be done by 4 ( just guessing , didn't add up times) , have a wonderful dinner and relaxed in the evening. Sounds like it's worth 50 grand for a weeks family vacation.

Very nice of you, Just don't tell them the cost. If I knew what you were paying, I'd said, I'm good watching the ducks. No need for rides.

It’s a limited pilot program, sure, but there is still an article on the home page of cnn.com. They will get a lot of press for this.

I think those prices are double what they should be. For $400/day, I expect once per ride of any park I visited.

My real worry is that these will drive the ILL and MLL prices UP, when they are already pretty high.

Soon, they’ll be charging for clean bathrooms.

That would eat into the VIP tours.

So when you can you buy them? We are staying at AKL and may do it for one MK day. It's limited, so I feel pressure!!! 😂

While Universals system is good and super expensive if not staying at a top resort, the difference is that the express pass at universal really only says it will cut your time in half. I have stayed in lines longer with the express pass then with genie.. Then again, it could all be dependent on day anyway
I have used both many times and on average it really is not very close, the EP saves us more time over a full day and when you add in the free EP with a premier resort stay it's even a BIGGER advantage, especially when you can get 2 days of EP with just 1 night stay:)

Holy cats.

So, I often go solo of with just my sister and niece. We always stay deluxe. I would absolutely spring for individual days of this. Not every day, but maybe 1-2 days for trips at certain times of year. I would knock a day off the trip to justify. No rope drop! No running! No time restrictions! That sounds like heaven.

Helios is supposed to be the most expensive Universal hotel so it should eventually come with express pass. It's smart by Universal not to offer it at the start it would just cause more chaos.
Tom Bricker's article (disneytouristblog.com) points out that he was able to confirm recently that Universal would get rid of this offering at their premier hotels if they could, but it's in the contract with Loews that was entered into when they first opened those hotels and were trying to get Loews to come in and run them. That's why it's not at the new park or hotel.

Some thoughts (just my opinions/predictions!):

- This is the new "6am wakeup" purchase. It will sell out instantly in every park every day.

- Which means prices will be far higher down the road- probably within a year.

- WDW will at some point introduce a multi-park option which will probably be closer to a thousand per person than $300 or $400

- They will likely need to reduce the number of "traditional" LL's and LL+'s offered per day. Both in order to not cause massive wait times for those who buy Premier AND to (and you'll never hear this from Disney) push people away from the cheaper options.

- Ulimately, I think the best comparison for Disney here isn't to LL or LL+. It's to VIP tours. Basically, if you're arguing from their perspective, this is a cheaper version of VIP- you don't get the guide or other little perks, but for a fraction of the cost, you get a "self-guided" VIP tour with the best part of a VIP tour- the line skipping.

We are dropping a signature if we decide to do this! I can be cheap with corn dog nuggets. 😂

Then they better be ready to bump the price of a VIP tour.

For us - just two adults - this would be better than a VIP tour because we don't want a guided tour. To just be able to ride everything at MK whenever we want, while spending the whole day there would be worth it. Once. This wouldn't be something we did more than once and only at MK>

Also, for the comparison to Universal's Express Pass, they don't run them the same as Lightning Lanes from a capacity/management standard. We went to Universal for the first time this year, and while the ability to arrive at any time and re-ride (although only did so a couple times) was nice, the actual experience was not as good as Disney's. For one thing, the shorter lines are based entirely on fewer people having the Express Pass and not on how they run the queues.

Disney allots a high percentage of hourly capacity to the LLs (for better or worse - depends on which line you're in) - most reporting has it at 80-90% of capacity goes to LL. Universal is more the opposite. There were numerous times we were in an Express line and they sent 3x as many people from the standby through as the Express and we were just standing waiting. In King Kong, where we could actually see the divide, only 25% of capacity was for Express (Lines 10-12).

I'm pretty sure they're ALWAYS ready to do that. 😇
Well, that goes without saying. ;)

But even Disney has to consider that the higher the price goes, the more likely they are to lose sales.
