LL Premier Pass is here!

a. woof

b. I wish this would become part of a built-in bundle for Deluxe resorts - granted it's just hiding the $$

I would imagine they will be tracking the take-rate closely - as to others's earlier points -if it's too available , it will swamp the very system they are trying to manage.

I miss the days of rope-drop for the win. Yes - I understand it's still out there, but if I start seeing LL's at 45m at 8am due to alot of rich folks...that will be discouraging

This is ALSO coming from someone who is arriving next week, and has 5 Multi-pass days purchased. ...sigh... I am persisting the problem.

I'd be surprised if it was around $429pp per day for MK. That would make it almost as expensive as getting a VIP tour on some dates and dividing it by 10 (max of 10 ppl allowed).

I'm wondering if they will offer hopper options, discounts for AP holders and DVC, etc. when it rolls out.
For 10 people, it does get a lot closer to VIP tour pricing, but not for a family of four. Also, keep in mind that if they are charging that top end price at MK, those are the days they’re also likely charging the top price for VIP tours ($900/hour). So even for 10 people and only 7 hours, looking at close to $700/person with tip.

I know this offering is for “ease of use” but with FP+ and even Genie+ (at wdw and especiallly at DL) I tend to get almost all the rides I want anyways. Haven’t used the new system yet but I’m sure I’ll do ok. Of course I know the nuances to the system from here. I’ll gladly pay $30 for 75% of what I want than $300 for 100%. To each their own.

However, from a publicity standpoint it’s just another “Disney is for the rich” data point which I thought they wanted to avoid.
My thoughts as well...I see people fired up about it in some other groups I'm in, because it's only being offered for Deluxe guests in the Pilot stages right now at World, but the flipside is, unlike other parks, you still have a cheaper option, that if you work it correctly, you'll still accomplish everything you want to do, with minimal wait times. This is targeted at a small subset of people based on the price points, but doesn't impact me or my day at all right now. I could see people who were on the fence about VIP tours, going this route, which in the end, puts more money in Disneys coffers than if they opted against the VIP tour and just paid for Multipass and Singlepass.

Well, if they did that, DVC resorts would become super wonderful. Spend 60 points a night for a 2 bedroom , get rides passes for 10 people.

Maybe I am confused. Why would anyone actually need this? The normal pay system works and I end up riding everything through the day with it. Maybe a majority of people don't know how to use it?

Does it even include ILL? Which I wouldn't care if it did cause I still wouldn't buy it

I feel this way, but I'm also realistic in that, we go to Disney often so we know what to do and how to do it. I could see people being very willing to pay for what they will consider a heightened experience where they don't have to do anything except show up and ride rides. No planning, no playing the genie slots, no refreshing to get times to link up so you're not crisscrossing the park. Just show up and go around the park in any order you want. Someone on a shorter trip, or with more disposable income than I have, where this might be a once in a lifetime trip, will definitely buy this. Which is why it needs to be priced high enough, so not everyone can buy it, which would defeat the purpose of it.

It includes any attraction with a LL queue. It also doesn’t require pre-booking times. It won’t be widely used which is the point. It’s a luxury item at a luxury price.

Right along the lines of Universal Express Pass - I believe the general Express Pass gives you one express entrance per attraction.

Makes me wonder if Disney ends up following the Universal model and including an unlimited Premier Pass if you book Deluxe...or a certain level of Deluxe resort. Bundle it up with a high-level room rate....
Except at Universal you get it for free when staying at a deluxe hotel. At WDW you get the option to buy it if you stay deluxe. And Universal is unlimited.

Setting cost aside, we have used the Disney systems over the years and then recently visited Universal, stayed Premier and used the Express Pass. It's amazing and really is completely a different experience than using Genie or Multi-Pass. Will be interesting to see how well this product sells given the material price difference between buying Multi-Pass and Single Pass for the day, but it will be a game-changer for efficiently moving through the parks, especially for someone who isn't as familiar with the parks and existing Disney systems.

I honestly don't think this is going to impact anything (prices for VIP tours, pricing for LL/ILL$, Lightning Lane availability in general, etc) right now. This is a very limited pilot program that will be offered to a small number of guests for testing purposes. It remains to be seen whether or not this program will ever be fully rolled out, when that will happen, what the price point/program details will actually look like in the end, etc. For now, this is just a test. Most people won't even know it's happening.

While Universals system is good and super expensive if not staying at a top resort, the difference is that the express pass at universal really only says it will cut your time in half. I have stayed in lines longer with the express pass then with genie.. Then again, it could all be dependent on day anyway
