LL Bean Quad Pack Backpack?

I'm on the hunt for a new backpack for DS10, almost 11. I am planning on buying a nicer quality one in hopes of it lasting more than 1 year. I am looking for something with 2 big main pockets and water bottle pouch on the side. DS10 wants red and comfy. We are looking for something lightweight. I'm surprised how many backpacks weigh 2-3 lbs empty! He gets a lot of homework plus needs room for snowpants, shoes, etc in the winter.

Does anyone have any experience with this backpack?
