Trip report day 4 ~ Sunday 4th June 06
Now the plan before we went away was to spend the day in Paris, but after finding it was a public holiday and shops and restaurants were likely to be closed as well as being warned that queues just to get tickets for the Eiffel tower could be up to 2 hours we talked about it and decided to have a lazy day. (We needed one)
Now when I say lazy all I really mean is no parks!
After breakfast we thought we would have a wander around the hotel, we went and had a look in the little Disney shop.
Kids then had a draw on the chalk boards outside the restaurant.

We then decided to go for a swim, pool was okay just a basic pool with another smaller childrens pool. Bit disappointing really, no slides etc could have been designed much better, but never mind the kids still loved it and we had an hour swimming and splashing around.
After our swim we decided to have a walk around the grounds of the hotel and go on the childrens park, kids played, we relaxed!

We then walked down to the lake.

By now it was about 1.30pm and we decided to go to Disney village etc as we were going to have a meal there later in the day, and we wanted to go up in the balloon.
Got to Disney village and had a look at the menus at Planet Hollywood and King Ludwig's Castle as we had 20% off both! Still undecided!!
Walked to the little train that goes round the lake decide to have a go, nice little trip (cost 2 euros each)

Walked to PanoraMagique, watched for a while before deciding to have a look in the hotels around the lake before our balloon trip.

Went and had a look in the Hotel New York, Sequoia Lodge Hotel and Newport Bay Club.
All very nice although very busy and all looked in need of a bit of decorating inside some looked quite shabby in places.
Talked about which one we liked the most I liked Newport Bay Club, Sean liked the Sequoia Lodge, decided it would be nice to stay within walking distance of the parks but not sure its worth the extra money (for us it would probably be staying extra days off site or less on, think extra nights would win!)
Had a nice wander around, watched the cars outside Hotel New York then walked back to PanoraMagique.
No one queuing so paid (12 euros adults, 6 euros children) quite expensive for a few minutes up in the air! but I would highly recommend it, great views of the park and hotels.

After coming down in the balloon we had a walk around the shops, before finally deciding on an early evening meal at King Ludwig's Castle.

Very impressed with the food, service and overall ambiance, really loved the meal as it was a bit different to the others we had.
I had Operahouse Stroganoff (Stroganoff of beef fillet and chicken with pilaf rice) which was superb!

Sean had Royal Sauerkraut - Smoked pork loin, thick bacon, Gretzel sausage, Montbéliard sausage, Nuremberg sausage and potato. Served on a dome of sauerkraut.

Which he loved but I hated the sauerkraut!
Kids had there normal fish and pasta meals,
Desserts were Waffles with ice cream for the kids, cheeses and biscuits for Sean and a yummy chocolate afters for me.

Total bill was 95 euros (about £67.00) with 20% off but included 3 beers and a bottle of wine. (Also got a 20% voucher to use in Rainforest café)
I would recommend this restaurant if you want something a bit different we would definitely go back!
After a lovely meal and a lovely day without setting foot in a Disney park !!!! It was back to the hotel for an earlier night and a bit of packing last day tomorrow!
