Living Statues?

Are the Living Statues still in Epcot? If they are, are they still right at France in WS? If not, does anyone know why they did away with them?

no they are not there anymore, don't know why....

No, sadly the Statues have left WDW. The last time we got to see them was 2004. I bekieve we saw them in Italy.

Last I read, they didn't want to tie themselves to WDW, so didn't accept a contract renewal.

Their contract ended in late 2004 I believe. I saw them in September 04, but not in Spring of 05.

I loved those statues.

It is sad not having them there, along with Character Masquerade and Le Mime Roland, all very much missed.

I made this comment on another thread, but perhaps it's worth repeating.

If you enjoyed the Living Statues at Epcot, and they are no longer there; perhaps you would enjoy seeing DeVine at the Animal Kingdom. I've sometimes suspected that the same person did both acts.

Living Statues was a group, not a single person; there were several different people, actually.

the living statues are unfortunately gone from wdw it was a group of performers typically at italy or france at epcot ws. their contract came up & disney didnt renew it. i always enjoyed seeing them too. ive heard rumors there now at universal.

Actually, the way I heard it, twojo, Disney did offer a new contract, and the Living Statues declined.

Thanks Everyone for your replies! I was trying to plan my days for my trip in 26 days ( ) and I thought my son would love them. We won't be going to Universal so I guess that is one thing I can leave out of our plan. I really enjoyed them in 2000 when I saw them on my honeymoon.
