There is a possibility that we may have a chance to move to Florida, about 2 hours from DW. Being so close is really exciting, but I wonder if the novelty will wear off. I grew up visiting family in Tampa, so we always did day trips to DW, and to me its a totally different experience than taking a week-long vacation there.

So for those of you who live close by, do you love it or does going to the parks get old after awhile? And are the FL resident deals really as great as they seem to all us non-FL people!?

Thanks!

I haven't gotten tired of living close to WDW yet. I went 95 times last year. :)

I think it enhances it for you. I take advantage of special happenings during the year. Find myself going over for just the concerts at Epcot/ or last weekend Espn the weekend, will do the 5k through Epcot tomorrow. Little things. Plus kind of gives you sense you are always on vacation!

I still love going to the parks, but it is a different experience than when I used to vacation here. My trips to the parks are much more relaxed. I don't try to do a lot on each visit. Often, I'll go to a park and never ride anything. I go for the atmosphere.

Boy, am I jealous ... I want to move to FL :car: ... :goodvibes

Keeping in mind that 2 hours is still a bit of a distance, I think it will be great. I lived 2.5 - 3 hours from WDW for 3 years and LOVED it. I didn't go as much as you would think because it's still $$$ since it's not really a day trip distance and you develope a life/schedule there just like anywhere else so time is always a factor.

My DH often had conventions and work in Orlando so I would drive up seperately with my DS and stay on property, visiting the parks. It was very easy for me though as one of my very best friends works there so I got great room discounts and into the parks for nothing.

My Dad also often had conventions in Orlando and my mom travels with him a lot so I would drive up then as well to see them. Then my mom and I would stay at WDW for a few days while my dad worked.

My DH and I did a few quick weekend getaways and that was great.

Yeah ... I think that distance is great because it's so much easier to go and visit but not too close that you end up there all the time just to pass time!
