Living large at Disney

I'm 5'8 and 125 lbs now, but last time we went to disney I was 230 lbs and had a heck of a time at Cirque du Soleil! The seats are tiny tiny tiny! Luckily enough, I had an aisle seat, but my butt was hanging off the edge and it was very uncomfortable. If you have Cirque planned, you may want to re-think it so that you're not in distress for 2 hours.

Gosh that is great, good for you! :cheer2:

Our family consists of 3 pooh sized people and the only place we had a problem was also at the Kali River. They sat my DW and DD daughter side by side and the belt wouldn t reach so then the cm tried to move my daughter next to me which made no sense what so ever the belt still wouldn t reach. So finally I told him "hey why not put one of the big people next to the small child over there"This of course solved the problem. Only bad thing was that DD was pretty red and embarrassed by the time she had tried evry seat in the boat.

Wow - what a different experience than I had at Cirque - I found the seats to be very comfortable, and I was 330lbs at the time (I've lost another 30lbs since then, and I'm still going down!). I am lucky in that my weight is fairly proportional (sp?), so I don't carry it all on my hips and butt, but I'm sure my butt at 330lbs, was bigger than yours at 230lbs... ;)

I did attend another Cirque show in Toronto, and there I found the seats to be tiny and very uncomfortable, but it wouldn't stop me from seeing another show - yes I was uncomfortable, but when I think back I don't remember that, I remember the preformance...

Again sitting in the front (seats 1 and 4) on space mountian can be a problem if you have long legs. Allearsnet.com has great info...and Passporter is coming out with a book on Special needs at WDW (including info on being Pooh-sized).

At Universal, they actually have samples of the seats for certain rides on display outside of the rides so people can check to see if they'll fit in them. When our group saw this, we debated whether this was a good thing or not.

I am tall and Pooh sized (6'4" and 350). The only problems I experienced were also with Test track in the back seat (not enough leg room) and Space Mountain (tight leg room once again). Also like was mentioned earlier, pull the seat belts out before sitting down to make it easier to buckle up after sitting down.

Question for you, did you ride Mission Space? I have been looking for a pooh sized report on that one. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

My Dh is 6'5. The only ride he has a problem on is BTMR, there just isn't enough leg room. He ends up with his knees jammed against the back of the seats in front of us and he finds it very painful.

The other thing I will NEVER do again is Astro Orbitors.. I was v uncomfortable in that ride and was worried I wouldnt be able to get out!! (of course I did just fine, but some people less mobile than me would have issues with that ride I think!)

can you tell me what the problem is and is it worse than space mountain( for me that was not so much a "fit" but a "legs to stiff to get out" problem due to how low it is)

I haven't had any Pooh-sizedness related problems. When I think the turnstiles are going to be a tight fit I do a sideways tippy-toe maneuver to get through. I realize that might not be possible to our friends with a lower center of gravity. My problem is usually legroom. I'm not very tall (5'8"), but I have very long thighs. BTMRR has severe legroom issues. I seem to recall having similar problems on PoC. The solution seems to be to cross my ankles, because it angles the upper leg differently. But that's not always comfortable, either. Getting into rides isn't always a picnic, either. Anytime I have to climb down to get into a ride vehicle, I'm guaranteed to knock my knee on the vehicle somewhere. I just pray that I don't take out the person sitting next to me, as well!

Astro Orbitors -is lower from what i can see of Space Mountain.. but ive not done the ride, so i cant compare.

lets right out in front of you.. in the bottom of the "space ship" requires lots of arm strength to get you out!!

Mike, I rode Mission space several times with no problems except that my shoulders were a little snug, but no uncomfortable. It is not one of my favorite rides, but DS6 loves it and DW can't ride it without ruining the rest of her day so I got "volunteered" to ride with DS.

Do not ride astro orbitor.

I attemped to squeeze myself into one of those seats last year and it was awful.

I also found Space Mountain to be a little tight. :(
