Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

Sandy- We are listed twice on the FE list. I had sent a new updated one to show a room change, and they are both on there now. Just dont want anyone confused. Thanks for keeping up with it.

Thanks all for the prayers for mom. We are looking into gtting her one of the scooters you can use for non weight bearing for the foot because she is so against a wheechair. Have to check with the airlines about flyng with it.

Hey gometros. Yes that would be the other board. I have seen your posts over there. I started a thread on there for a Disney cruise and it had very little activity. Now I know why, ever one is over here.

Thanks MiaSRN62 for the welcome.

Since some have sailed the Dream we should be able to find our way around the Fantasy very easy. My DD who is three loved Nemos Reef and that is all she wanted to do last cruise. This year I think she will want to swim since she can.

To anyone who has little ones and has never cruised Disney keep your camera and eyes open, because at any time a character may appear and you can get a photo of a life time. The childerns face will light up like you have never seen.

Does anyone know why we are docked in Costa Maya for only 4 HRS 45 MIN. Doesn't seem like much time to do a whole lot. I've never been there so I don't know much about it but we would like to see something oter than shopping.

First of all...I so miss having little ones ! The joy we would get from seeing their excitement in WDW or on the cruise. Miss it ! Alas...my youngest is now 19 (also have a 21 and 25 yo !).

Secondly, I so don't get Costa Maya either Simpleman ?!!! Several of the excursions require a 50 min bus ride EACH WAY ??? I would feel too pressured. We're staying on the ship that day....maybe just off to see what the immediate port looks like ?

Fixed.

Hello everyone, looks like we have been a very talkative bunch! T minus 54 days and counting

I know I am late to the game, but count me in as someone who was up at 12:01 am booking excursions and the such. I actually did it twice! As previous DCL cruisers we had the 90 day mark. I then had to do it again for my parents. Still debating as to whether or not our 3 & 5 year olds will enjoy the dolphin encounter excursion on Grand Caymen, and it's a bit pricey to take the chance.

We got dinner at Remy, a couple of spa appointments, pirate make overs for the kids (on Pirates night) and a Family Cabanan on CC (really excited about this one).

Anyone hitting WDW before the cruise? We check into the BC on Tuesday, 9/25/

Hi yogi3323 ... wow ... congrats on the Cabana!! ... since we're first-timers with DCL, by the time we could book our activities, all the Cabanas were gone - we were hoping for one of the Adult ones but no luck - it certainly would have been extremely helpful for DW due to her health - does anyone know if they have tram service from the ship to the main areas of CC? We also will be hitting WDW before our cruises ... staying @ AoA for one night followed by 7 nights @ PORS :cool1:

Welcome Simplealman ( I think I've seen you on the other board also) ... and to everyone else recently joining ... :wave2:

Here you go:

Let's see if this works. I think it's easier than converting it to a jpg each time, This way you should be able to access it anytime.

Thanks! Much easier ... still waiting on a few other things but started putting all our FE items together last night for each cabin ... boy is it a lot of work ... hoping it will all come together

Thanks ... the good news is that after our cruise you will be repeat customers and get the earlier access.:yay:

Check as soon as you board, they tend to release additional cabanas initially held for the concierge cruisers. Yes, there is a tram to take you from the ship. I think there is a stop nearby the family beach and again near the adult section.

They run a tram from near where the ship docks to the main area, making two stops. There is a connecting tram that takes adults to Serenity Bay.

Just checking...but this is the lowest priced cabin I've seen for our cruise in quite awhile. I check almost daily (while checking for a possible room assignment---still none !) :
Outside Stateroom with Restrictions
Category OGT
Sleeps:3 or 4
Size:Approximately 200 sq ft
Deck:Varies
View:One large porthole window or 2 small porthole windows
$1,641.08
Restrictions apply

We're flying in Thursday night and staying at the BWV. Plan to hit either DHS or MK in the morning and end up at EPCOT for F&W. Yes, I know it will be busy, but we'll only have that Friday ad the Sunday after we get back to actually venture into the parks.

Thanks .. we were prettty excited to get it and check back often to make sure it's still on the reservation!

Very nice, always wanted to stay at the WL ... on the ol bucket list. We purchased at AKV and BCV. Kidani, in my opinion, is underrated as a DVC resort.

We're going to hit EPCOT for a day after the cruise too. Busy, but do-able since it's only for F&W :)

Sandy...that Friday is 1st day of F&W ! Hubby and I plan on being there as well !!! Maybe closer to the trip we can exchange cell numbers and can text eachother for a quick meet-up if you're comfortable with that ? If not....we'll see ya on the Fantasy :thumbsup2

Yogi.....We love WL/VWL. However, we own at AKV and BLT. BCV is the ONLY DVC (except for the GC is CA) that we have not stayed at. That's on my bucket list. And I agree about Kidani....it's not within walking distance to a park---though AK is walkable--just not in a safe manner due to roads.....but we love it there. Themeing is awesome.....I am so anxious and excited for this WDW & Fantasy vacation !

Hi Everyone, we are first time Disney Cruisers, celebrating our honeymoon. Since this is our first Disney Cruise we have NO IDEA what we are doing. We added ourselves to the fish extender list (I think), and are excited to see what this is all about.

We reserved Remy and brunch at Palo. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to make our honeymoon awesome please let us know!

Welcome BeNicole !!! How about booking a couple's massage at the spa---or schedule one in a Castaway Cay cabana...there are still times available right now. Just checked. I think that would be nice for a honeymoon :) CONGRATS to you both ! :goodvibes

I need help choosing which beaches to go to in all of the ports. I'm so confused by all the choices. Here is some info to help:

1. We have two kids. At cruise time, one will be 5 years, other will be 23 months.
2. We'd prefer not to pay for a Disney excursion that just drives us to a beach and back. We would rather take reliable, easily accessible public transportation or hire a private driver.
3. The shorter the distance the better, but we still want great quality.
4. We are willing to a pay a fee for the beach if needed
5. My son has a lot of food allergies, so we need to be able to eat somewhere with staff that speaks reliable English (though we will also have written info in Spanish as a backup)

Thoughts???

We plan on hitting the parks Tuesday - Thursday. My parents are flying down for the cruise Friday morning so they have graciously volunteered to take the grand kids for the day on Friday. They don't want to spend the $ to get into a park for the day and just plan on hanging out at Stormalong Bay all day with the kids. THUS, the wife and I are free to go and experience the first day of F&W. Busy is fine, but since we booked this cruise back in October we are very excited about getting a chance to spend a day at the festival.

We just purchased BCV earlier this year and are looking forward to staying there (our first time). We have a studio for the first night since we were initially getting in after 8pm (but the airlines played with our flights so I was able to get them to put us on the earlier filight that we wanted initially but was more expensive). We move into the 2 Bedroom the next day for the balance of the trip.

AKV was a direct buy in December 2009 if i recall correctly. Our kids love it there, especially the kiddie water play area at Kidani.

As Mia suggest below, the couples Spa is a great idea. The wife and I have one booked for the first Sea day. Remy and Palo are great ideas as well.

My only suggestion would be DON'T KILL YOURSELVES trying to see / do everything. It's your honeymoon, enjoy your time together first and foremost. I am not sure if this is your first cruise or not (you mentioned it was your first on DCL), but if it is, don't get overwhelmed ... just sit back and enjoy the time. The adult areas are great and the CM do a great job of keeping it adult only.
