Livin Lite Quick Silver?

Anybody have a Livin Lite Quick Silver? We are thinking of upgrading from a tent, but don't want to give up our good gas-mileage Subaru Outback for a monster tow vehicle. Curious about the quality, ease of use, etc. thanks!

They are definitely spendy, and I imagine a little cold with all of the metal. But we were considering a teardrop until we started wondering how old little guy would be before sleeping in the same bed as dad was no longer cool. Still, 8 or $9000 for a popup is a stretch for us.

Anybody have any suggestions for other ultra-lightweight trailers? I just can't seem to get comfy sleeping on the ground (or a cot for that matter) and, since we live in Arkansas, air conditioning is pretty much a necessity if you're going to camp more than about 2 months out of the year.

Have you checked out Craigslist for used models? I bought my Starcraft used that way for $4,000. It was six years old and like new. The previous owners had only used it five times. Weighs 1800 pounds empty, opens to 21 feet, and I pull it with a Pilot. I realize it's heavier than what you are looking for, but point is I found a great deal on a used model. We have owned it almost two years and love it!

Livin Lite is not cheap....but has no wood to rot, so you probably would never have to replace it, unless you upgrade to one of their larger campers.

I spent a lot of time at the recent Tampa RV show sitting in the Camp Lite travel trailers and truck campers....at my age I want to get it right the first time and not have to hassle with shopping again a few years down the road. I was impressed with their product.

Also, Scott Tuttle, the head honcho at Livin' Lite took the time to answer my emails personally. He really listens to input and welcomes feedback.

I have a Colman Taos that I town behind our 08 Outback 2.5i
It towed great down from MD to FW and back. A few times my speed slowly creeped up faster then I wanted to be going.

Even with the lightweight Liven Lite trailers, I would recommend getting brakes installed.
FYI: I installed the brake controller on door to the fuse box (left side). I am 6ft and the wife is 5'4" and I only hit my shin on it 1 time when my 5'0" mom left the seat all the way forward. But I when I have the chance, I am going to get an extra door from a junkyard, so I can unplug the controller and not have any visual signed that it is installed.

Interesting, so the factory tow kit on the Outback won't control the trailer brakes through the connector? That's good to know.

The factory connector is a 4pin. You will need a 7 pin to control the brakes.

The 4 pin only provides
Green - RightTurn
Yellow - Left Turn
White - Ground
Brown - Running lights

So to get "brake" lights the trailer is really activating both turn signals for an extended period of time.


There are other connectors (4 thru 7 pins) but the flat 4 and the round flat pin 7 will be found on almost all trailers now.
