liverwurst... yay, or nay?

Yay! It's the one lunchmeat I can buy and know that I'll have it when I want it, because the kids won't touch it! Love it with swiss and some mustard.
 

It's in the same category for me as brussel spouts. A couple of times per year, I want it, buy it at the store, eat it, and the craving just disappears.

When I was a kid I loved liverwurst, then I figured out it was made from liver :lmao:. I stopped eating it for many years. I like it now, but it's too fatty so I don't eat it very often.

ohhhh yay---liverwurst on rye, brown mustard, swiss cheese and little touch of raw onions---darn now I want to run up to wawa and get one

There is a big secret for Brussels sprouts. Never eat them before the frost has gotten over them. And not the frost in your freezer but outside on the fields.

Like grapes the frost will change the whole taste of the sprouts. :thumbsup2

No wonder your "Leberwurst" taste is so weird. The real liverwurst is made from 44% Pig meat,30% liver and 30 % calf meat. The rest is sugar and herbs.
Organ meat is totally forbidden so maybe you should look into a real German shop. :rotfl2:
 
I have never had it because as a kid my dad would eat it and I thought it was gross. I guess I need to give it a try as an adult. I hadn't thought of it in years. I am not even sure if anyone sells it around here.
 
I know I shouldn't have even opened this thread but :sick:. My husband loves liverwurst but me, just sitting here, I'm nauseas even thinking about it. One of the most revolting things I have ever smelled in my life.

So I would be in the nay camp.
 
Yay if it's Boar's Head Liverwurst.
